Anytime I see anything that's even remotely linkable to Van Halen, I assume it is. Like the episode of Seinfeld where the police officer says "we have a 5150". Then I saw the episode yesterday where George thinks a kitchen is on fire and pushes people out of the way to escape. When he's explaining to Jerry what happened, Jerry mentions the theory of "Woman and Children First". I start thinking that somebody on the Seinfeld writing staff must have been a VH fan.

Sorry, what was the topic again? Oh yeah, I'll say the hamburger scene in Better Off Dead.

I've heard about it, but I've never seen it.

I also love the VH reference in the Wedding Singer, that's a great one.

It's funny, I went to see Charlie's Angels the other day with my wife, and it was one of those MTV type movies in that it was loud with alot of music. And whenever I see movies like that, I always think about which VH songs would fit in with the action. Watching Charlie's Angels I was inserting And The Cradle Will Rock into one of the scenes late in the movie, I swear.

Damn, I need a new hobby.

Mine would have to be the references in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure or Airheads.

Again, this may not be what you're looking for, but here goes.

We have a show here in Canada called Open Mike with Mike Bullard, which is essentially just like Letterman or Leno. Anyway, Randy Bachman was on recently plugging his autobiography and was mentioning that his son is now a guitar player. Mike Bullard asked him if he (Randy) taught his son how to play the guitar. Randy said "no, he learned from listening to guys like Eddie Van Halen". It was cool to hear EVH mentioned in that interview.

Mine is DEFINITELY the hamburger scene from "Better Off Dead" (kudos, Glenn).
I remember that taking me by TOTAL surprise the first time I saw it. Now, some 10-12 years later, I STILL have to rent it every six months just to see that again - even though I love the whole movie.

That one movie Ed soloed over and made music too back in 85'? And it wasn't like one song either. Like for instance maybe "Dohnut City" might of been off there but that was just 1 song. The movie was a flop though and Ed's riffs weren't at all mixed very well throughout the whole "sequence of the movie.

I remember the riffs in it were a couple that were on "5150" like, 5150 and Good Enough.

Speaking of "Good Enough", the movie "SpaceBalls"! I loves that movie! Mel Brooks is one funny mo'fo'.

Hello all. As you can see this is my first post....
To "No Bozo's", the movie you're referring to is called, "The Wild Life."
My favorite reference is at the end of "Fast Times at Ridgemont High". Just before the credits they show what the main characters eventually did later on in life. Sean Penn's character (Jeff Spicoli) read, "Jeff Spicoli - Saves Brooke Sheilds from drowning. Blows reward money on hiring Van Halen to play his birthday party."

My favorite references were the ones made by Keanu Reeves, as Ted, in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. Between the mentions of Eddie Van Halen and the 5150 t-shirt, that would have to be my favorite.

My runner-up would be Fast Times at Ridgemont High when two kids are looking to scalp Van Halen tickets and the end credits when Spicolli hired Van Halen for his party.

Okay, I had to do a forum search and dig this bad boy back up. Just flipped on the TV and Bachelor Party is on, which I haven't seen in many years. Anyway, right near the start they go to see one of Tom Hanks' buddies who sells concert tickets, and there's tons of music pictures and posters on the walls. And just to the right of a big Quarterflash poster is a magazine sized picture of (I'm pretty sure) David Lee Roth. Anybody else seen this?

    I'll throw this in:

The other day I was watching the cable network TechTV. The host was putting m&m's in different cups to demonstrate the speed of different modems. Anyway, he comes across a brown M&M and says "WHAT IS THIS DOING HERE? IT'S IN MY CONTRACT THAT THERE WILL BE NO BROWN M&M'S" He didn't mention VH, but you just know.....
