Lol, yeah my ugly mug is abouts to start some shit with those China hoggin' peeps. WTF? I mean THE only thing I'm concerned about is how they managed to so call take our pride n' joy and have it raped by some commies in C? Funk that, I beg to differ, so what about the rest of you kids?

Self to Note: Can you say "international waters" and to think C is trying to make it out like it's a "spy" thang thinking cause well, the USA is da shit as far as new tachnology IMHO but thats pretty much why I threaded it like I did.

If the roles were reversed you guys would be doing the exact same thing, checking their spy plane out.

Hell, you'd be silly if you DIDNT

None of this should be surprising. The Chinese capture a spy plane and crew of ours and decides to take advantage of it by parading it(the situation) around the international community. They are saying look what we caught the big bad Americans doing. They just want to punk us out internationally. No surprise.

Bush is doing the right thing by showing some back-bone by demanding the crew and plane handed back ASAP. I bet we get the crew back in a couple of weeks(after the Chinese are done interigating them) but I think we can pretty much kiss that plane good-bye. I think they should return the plane after all Bubba did hook them up with all our new high speed communication secrets so that's the least they could do in return.

We ran a recovery operation on a sunken Russian boomer a few decades ago. Glomar Explorer might ring a bell for a few of you.

We went through a MiG-25 who's pilot defected back in the 70's.

No one is disputing that the collision happened in international waters. The Chinese will hold the crew and airplane as long as they can get away with it. What is in dispute is the cause of the collision. Doesn't take a genius to figure out that a large turboprop patrol airplane isn't as maneuverable as a fighter.

The US has a long history of manned intelligence-gathering (is that a nice way of saying spy, or what?) assets getting us into hot water. Supposedly this EP-3 was poking around a newly commissioned Chinese destroyer. The Chinese played the game the same way we used to do with the USSR. Send some fighters to rattle the cages a little. This time there was a boo-boo, and one that rather favors the Chinese.

exactly Mike, the Chinese are just playing the game. They even lucked out a little bit this time. The US was playing just having the plane there in the 1st place. If the roles were reversed, Im sure you guys woulda been happy to allow a Chinese 'data' plane to zip a few miles off the coast..No I didnt think so

Yeah, well at least a rookie in an F-18 wouldn't do what the China did which was "bump" them in international waters. I just don't get it? Now that they have taken their time(which China does do with polotics) and reaped the benifits. Yeah, but we CAN tell if the shits been tampered with? Lol, we just can't do that ti'll she's returned. If not I'm SURE one of the 24 crew members destroyed just "enough" evidence to keep em' astray!

The missing fighter pilot is sure to get a big-ole medal, posthumous or not. I'm betting the fella wasn't too happy the moment his plane hit ours. It never looks good to lose an airplane. Ask the F-16 pilot who lost his while trying to take a whiz...

Anyway, the guy is sure to be a national hero for the Chinese.

You've got to wonder what the decision process was for the guy in charge of the EP-3. What he should of done is ditch in the sea. They carry enough life-saving gear that that wouldn't have been as dangerous as it might sound. Instead he let a valuable asset fall into the hands of the Chinese. Whoops...

The Navy sure has been fucking up lately.

We lose aircraft every year to mid-airs. Usually they involve only our own pilots; this time that's not the case. Where it happened isn't relevant to what happened.

Ooh? SB is on your'e hide now I'm sure? Lol, Allz I'm saying ML is that we escort China spy planes all the time out of or guide them out of our turf so to speak? I mean, thats the whole US back in that they are "banking" that they were IN IW's and they were not at fault in any way.

Dear lord, what the fuck are you trying to say? I can't understand very much of that. What's an SB? You might as well be speaking Chinese.

We don't escort Chinese spy planes away from the US. They don't have anything that can reach the US...

I take it your "IW" means international waters? Like I said, that's immaterial to the situation. The US pilot diverted to China on his own discretion, when he should have ditched the plane. What's hard to understand about that?

Sorry, EOTN. I didn't have my Secret Decoder Ring handy, so I had to wing it. I swear a lot, especially when I try to understand what you're trying to say.

Which of my facts are wrong? Point'em out, if you can.

Yes, seenbad was in the Navy. I'm sure he'd agree with me that the Navy has been having some rather public problems as of late.

Talk about a non-shalont? Lmao ... Goo had an interesting point though that he the pilot was ordered to take one for the commie nation. Mu fugga!
