...O.K....What's a cool solid you did for someone you didn't know personally?

BTW, let's try to keep this clean...

Something I love to do whenever I go over the Bay or Golden Gate bridges is to pay the toll for the car behind me...generates a bunch of good will...It's fun to watch the person try to catch you going over the bridge so they can say 'thanks...'

Just this last weekend. A lady my wife knows from church whos husband died five years ago, let her yard grow out to where the neibors complained and the city threatened to condem it. She has no money. I took a buddy of mine over and spent a couple days making it right again. Blackberries SUCK.

Wait a minute. Does the fact my wife knows her mean shes not a stranger?

Even though it drives me crazy when people don't say "thank you" when I hold a door open for them, I still do it daily. Often times, I'll actually pull a door open, and then stand back and let the person walk in ahead of me, as opposed to holding the door until the person grabs it and then continuing on ahead of them. Oddly enough, I find that when I do this, people are usually very surprised, like it's the last thing they expected. I get a kick out of that.

Ya know what sucks? A few months ago I offered to carry an old gals groceries from her car to her house. She looked at me like I was either nuts or was planning to kill her. Sad.

Today I gave a student a final grade for math that she didn't quite deserve because her mom would get on her big for a 'D.'

Hey, were you in Florida on Monday? When we were coming back from Miami, we got waved through the Turnpike Tollbooth here in Orlando, guessing the car in front paid for us or something.

As for me, I just try to do the little things everyday: opening doors, letting other drivers out of parking lots and side streets, saying "please" and "thank you", not killing anybody, you know, the usual stuff.

I usually don't do this for men, but this guy had no idea how to change his tire on his BMW, he was dressed nice, and I was in work cloths, so I changed his tire. He was kinda oldish so I had pity. The poor guy felt really dumb and was pretty appreciative. So I guess its okay to help the wealthy right?

Wombat, that's very cool!

We were stranded in Detroit, dead car, horrible blizzard, no power, and not dressed properly (shame on me for growing up in WI, and living in the midwest and traveling in the winter without proper attire), and more then likely would have died, except for a kind young owner of a tow truck company. He had all his drivers out, listened to out story and told us it was a 2 hour wait (minimum) before he could get us help. We thanked him and told him what funeral home in Illinois we wanted to make sure we were sent to...and he was there in 15 minutes. Missed his oldest daughter's first ever Christmas dance recital just to help us out.

I vowed then that I'd never pass a motorist in distress without helping someway. Not always safe for a woman alone, but at least I always call for assistance...So there's always a soft spot in my heart for someone who helps out stranded folks!

Hey everyone.

Well, I was in Wal-mart at the check out counter and an elderly lady was ahead of me. The cashier sacked the womans things, took her money and then gave her a receipt/change. The woman grabbed her bags then pushed her things away in the buggy.
The cashier rung me up and when I reached for the bag, I noticed the lady ahead of me had left one of her bags behind. I asked the cashier if I could try to catch up with the woman. She said that would be fine. I figured if I didn't catch her I would leave it at the service desk. Anyway, I ran out to the parking lot and looked all around. I saw the woman pushing her buggy down one of the isles. I walked over to her and explained what happened. She hugged me and started crying. I felt very good that day because I reassured someone that there are still honest people in this world. That is a wonderful feeling you guys.

I have also let people ahead of me in the grocery line if they were: up in age, hurt(broken arm/leg etc,), have only a couple of items and my buggy is full, pregnant, or
good looking .

I have also given strangers directions several times.

The other day a guy gave me some change to get my middle child a toy out of the gum ball machine.
I only had dimes, nickles, pennies and bills. I am just trying to give that stranger some merit.

Not to mention spending 5 hours on the phone with me trying to fix my computer. Quit being so modest!
