I dont know....I would be careful! The one who invented the Internet can surely take it away so be nice! You wanna know what I think? Ok here it goes. Let me preface by saying.....Im a Republican. But I have to be honest with you.....Bush scares the hell out of me. Id rather have Dan Quale if you know what I mean. You can Read whatever you want into that. (Yes I think Little Danny is smarter) I think Bushes only objective here is family pride. He is quoted as saying he will seek revenge come the next election after his Father was Beat by Slick Willie. Will I vote for Gore....Maybe. Doubtful but maybe. I dont know. I always vote but this time I may write in a name or something. The Debates should decide it for me however. If Bush comes across Presidential and he acts like he knows what he is doing I'll give it some thought. Bottom Line though....I just dont know.

I feel the same way about Bush's motives.
I think what's driving him the most is his need for family revenge. I get the sense that alot of republicans are still in shock over that fact that Clinton "the draft dodger" defeated Bush sr. who is a WW2 veteran.

Bush just doesn't seem to be the man for the job. Remember before the primaries when the reporter quized him a little? Bush had thrown his hat in the ring without seeming to know very much. It was obvious that he didn't (doesn't?) pay attention to the world around him. Having some sort of knowledge is maybe--just maybe--important to the position.

If his name was anything other than George Bush Jr, he would never have been an oil company executive, never governor of Texas, and never even possibly considered as a presidential candidate. He is just completely moronic. I know NOTHING about drilling for oil, but I am reasonably sure that if I drilled in both Texas and the Middle East, I would hit a pocket of oil at least ONCE . Zapata Oil, under the "leadership" of George Bush Jr. (Dad was in the White House) couldn't even pull that off.

Quayle might actually be smarter. (Scary as that is!) He was certainly more compatible with the religious reich "values" that puppet boy now claims as his own.

It's all about Daddy's name. And it's sickening that even John Mc Cain caved in to it in the end. The last decent Republican elected official in this state is retiring as of this election, leaving the party entirely in the hands of the extremist idiots who are running a hate radio talk show host for governor and a spoiled rich kid who's never had a real job in his life for this congressional district. If there wasn't a real danger of fools like this taking over the country, I would laugh at the pathetic joke of it all.

    Good points Mike & FORD.

It's a really scary to think that Quayle is smarter than Bush!

Quayle doesn't know how to spell potato but I'll bet you anything he could name more foreign leaders than Bush jr.

Living in Canada, your election has no direct impact on me but there's somethin' 'bout this Al Gore dude that makes me laugh. I think the guy actually thinks he invented the internet, as he has suggested.

I am a republican. Actually president of the College Republicans at my school. But I must say, Bush has got to be the worst republican presidential candidate in at least 20 years. Thank god Gore is even worse or we would be well on our way to socialism.

I don't think is Bush the best man for the job is the question (hell, my personal opinion was the best man for the job was a woman by the name of Elizabeth Dole).

But the questions is... Do we really want Mr. Roboto in the highest office of the land? Uh, call me unAmerican, but hell no. So your choices are Dubbya, Nader (wasted vote), or Anti-Semite Buchanan (who got tired of being humiliated as a Republican so he went where his only competition was Perot... wait, did I just call Perot competition?). Lesser of all evils is Dubbya, and let's be honest, did anyone REALLY think Reagan would turn out to be as good as he actually was?

Reagan was also the front for the religious reich and military industrial complex, just like Junior would be. It was just another acting role for him.

I wasn't old enough to think such things at the time. Neither were you, if I recall.

As far as how good Reagan was... give it a few more years for the historians to really shake it down. Economists hated the guy. The national debt tripled during his tenure, due to his spending. We've yet to get it under control.

Dole wasn't good enough... if he was, he'd be running for his second term.
