You nailed it man. Truely a class act. Major props to TROY. One of my hero's no doubt. A great QB, and a great person. He will be a Cowboy forever no matter what ever other team he may or may not play for. Out.

i have been a cowboys fan since berth. yes, JJ is a prick.

however, this was definitely in the best interest of the team!!

too bad he won't be there to hand off to emmitt when he breaks payton's record sometime in the 2002 season

Jerry Jones is trying to compete with Art Moddell as the Anti-Christ of the NFL.

Whereas JJ is an arrogant and cocky ass, he has changed the landscape of the NFL. I have to say that Daniel Snyder of the 'skins takes the cake though. He rides into the league thinking he could buy a championship with over the hill, past their prime stars and didn't even make the playoffs. I hate the 'skins, but you gotta feel sorry for the fans because he has killed the them for years to come. His cap management and high salaries to old players will haunt them for years. Aikman will hurt the Cowboys, but only for 1 year.

Yeah, even though I despise the Cowboys, Aikman was always a class act. I have a feeling we'll see him surface in San Diego (where his former offensive coordinator, Norv Turner, landed). He can help them groom Michael Vick this season and next, then retire. I would like to see him retire now, rather than risk paralysis or worse, but he's too competitive for that yet.

I'd like to see him retire a Cowboy, too...

And, Lime...amen! Washington is THE joke of the NFL...Maybe they should join that "other league."

I am a cowboy hater, but Aikman and Smith are awsome. Aikman needs to retire before his brains turn from jelly to snot.

You gotta assume Emmitt will be able to carry the team on his own, unless Cunningham gets good again like he was in Minnesota; otherwise it'll be too hard for Emmitt with everyone stopping him.

Maybe Big D can sign Tony Banks as a good luck charm, then get rid of him/bench him, too. Look what happened with the Rams & Ravens after they did!

It'll still be hard to also replace Williams & Hennings.

It was the right thing to do. Aikman is aching, he's old, and too expensive ($7 million).

Amen to JJ being a prick ! After what he did to Tom Landry he should be shot on sight . That organization was ruined in 1989 . Although I'm a huge Packer backer , I never despised the Cowboys until Jones came into town . He's the Ray Danniels of the NFL . It's time for Troy to hang it up and be happy with 3 rings .

Nah, JJ & JJ built the Team of the '90s with 3 Super Bowl wins. Either Mike McCaskey of the Bears (shoulda won at least one, if not 2 more SBs) or the Redskins' owner is more of a Ray Danniels.
