Does anybody remember Shakey's Pizza? Or Burger Chef? Or Dee's hamburgers? I have fond childhood memories of them. Do they exist anywhere today?

None of those I remember. But I do remember Sizzler. I think I saw one in San Juan. But those are pretty much extinct.
CHICAGO WHITE SOX - 2005 WORLD CHAMPIONS

The Chicago White Sox (1901-present) - The Original SOX - Proof

The Boston Americans (1901)
The Boston Somersets (1902)
The Boston Pilgrims (1903-1906)
The Boston Red Sox (1907-present) - Proof

The Pilgrims/Americans/Somersets whatever you want to call them, have NEVER displayed "SOX" anywhere on their caps, jerseys, or merchandise, therefore they shouldn't be referred to as such. However, the White Sox have used "SOX" since 1912.

The SOX are in Chicago...we just allow the Pilgrims/Americans/Somersets to use the name.

By the way, does anyone know the Dee's jingle? "Let's go to Dee's, let's all go to Dee's! That's what Daddy says, and the family all agrees. Dee's!"

I remember when we moved to Lexington from New Jersey, they had a "Wiener King" right next to a Burger King. I shit you not.

Now, does anybody remember G.D. Ritzy's? That place was the shizzat. If anybody knows of any still around, let me know. I would put some mile on the Wolfmobile for that shit.

There's a Shakey's somewhere in mid Wisconsin. I don't recall where exactly, but I drove by it in July. I was pretty surprised to see it. I remember the silly hats they used to give out at birthday's and such. Good pizza, too.

Del Taco

I havnt seen any up in my neck of the woods, but I remember there was one in San Diego when I was in the Navy that saved my life more than a couple times. It was open all night, and we would come back from Tiajuana AFU'd and stumblin drunk/hungry, and there it would be. The saviour. lol. You could just dig in your pocket and find some loose change and some lint and just know that it would get you something

I liked it better than taco hell too.

When I was very young, we had a Burger Chef, and right down the street from it was a Dog 'N Suds. The D n S was replaced by what became a GREAT pizza place, and I thought they had disappeared forever.

Then, about 20 years later, I noticed one tiny little drug store selling Dog 'N Suds root beer! When I moved to Indy, there are Dog N Suds EVERYWHERE-car hops and all! I was quite surprised, to say the least, coz I figured they were all gone.

We'd order the Mountain of Fries, eat Goldrush sundaes, and dodge the striped-outfitted waiters bringing sparkler-encrusted sundaes to birthday kids while singing and blowing whistles and stuff. What was the name of their huge dessert that came in a big silver bowl and was basically 30 scoops of icecream with topping?
