Troy is a true class act. The game of football will miss him. But it is for the good of his health. Poor Emmitt; he's the only class act left on the Cowboys. Oh, well, good luck with Banks at QB this year Cowboy fans.

I'm glad for his sake that he has decided to retire. I would hate to have seen him try and go at it one more time only to get seriously hurt by another blow to the head. I like Troy and he has been a great quarterback, too bad he played his whole career for the worst team in sports the Dallas Crackheads.

He did the right thing by retiring before the concussions had an even worse impact on his daily life.

    Troy will be missed.

That's good, he was getting too old anyway to play I thought.

I agree. Just like Steve Young, they both won Super Bowls and had nothing left to prove and were in danger of getting hurt again. Too bad for Emmitt Smith, now defenses are going to focus on stopping him because the Cowboys aren't going to have a decent passing attack.

Well actually the team has been on the upswing. As a diehard 'Pokes fan I am glad to see the coke heads (Irvin,Lett, and Deion) are gone. They gave a very dominate team a black eye. It's amazing how teams will sign some of these losers (lett) even after they know of their character.

Troy is one of my hero's. His press conference today was quite touching. He thanked alot of people in the organization, and broke down several times. I'm glad he decided to retire as a Cowboy, and not give it one last shot for another team. Eventhough we all know he can still play, I'm happy that he went out with the great STAR on his helment. Hey what can I say, I'm selfish when it comes to the Cowboys. We will miss ya Troy. Out.

Aikman is a true champion and the game will miss him. I too am glad he left when he did, I would hate to see the guy throw one to many pass's and end up wearing diapers for the rest of his life.

Hard to beleive its been 12 yrs, I remember when he was at UCLA.

I don't think so. He rushed for 1183 yards and 9 touchdowns. Pretty soon he'll probably break Walter Payton's all-time record.

I think that's the only reason he's playing now. He doesnt have anything else to prove, and the Cowboys dont really have a chance at the Super Bowl IMO. I really wish Barry would have broken the record. He really deserved it.

Not a Cowboy fan but It's a good thing he retired. He did more in football than most and there is no point in hurting yourself anymore. Who knows what would happen if he hit his head on the turf one more time, maybe something more serious.I may not like him,or the Cowboys(except Emmitt),but I don't think anyone wants to see someone get seriously hurt.Good luck Troy

a cowboys fan since i was 4....wow! this is rough...and weird at the same time. i cannot believe he is gone. it seems like he just started. i remember being in grammar school and all the kids laughing when i wore my dallas jackets and they were 1-15.

he brought so many good memories...consumate team player and all around wonderful individual. the cowboys have tarnished the league a bit, but aikman helped put some of that aside.

it must be so tough to do only one thing then one day you wake up and you cannot do it anymore after 25 years. that's scary.

boy do i really need my van halen now.

Troy was a class act and a fierce competitor...as a Niners fan, I loved his talent, but hated his team...I am glad he retired, as I am glad when Steve Young hung them up...Troy has nothing left to prove, and hasn't for some time...Best wishes to him...

I can't really say anything positive about Troy that hasn't already been said by the rest of you. (That says everything, I guess. )

Although you might not like the Cowboys (I know I don't. LOL. Go G-Men!), anyone that isn't a fan of Troy's isn't a fan of the game of football.
