President Bush's faith based initiative is interesting concept but does it cross the line between the seperation of church and state?
He wants faith based groups to be allowed to bid on goverment contracts that help the needy. The civil liberty groups don't like it because they say it's a violation of the seperation of church and state. Some religious groups say they fear that faith based groups will lose their calling and start worrying more about the money.
I can see the logic behind this idea. Put groups in charge of certain programs who really have the desire to help people and are not just there to collect money from Uncle Sugar. But, then again, there's the seperation of church and state thing. This is a tricky one. I'm going to have to do some serious pondering on this subject. What do you guys think? You can read the article over at www.cnn.com under the political section.

This is not the "Meet The Press Forum."
Stop trying to make it such.
You're politically-minded, and that's great. But all these threads are over the top.
For political debates, go to http://community.cnn.com/ or find other political message boards.
A couple of political threads are all we need in Non-Music.
