O.K. The teams are just about set (save the Dodgers, who haven't quite been eliminated yet). For those of you who give a rats ass, post your thoughts here.

I'm an Angel fan; so of course I'm happy that they are in the playoffs for the first time since 1986.

Well like i said on the 1st page of the baseball thread in mar. The braves will be the kings this year 100% gurrented.... I also think I was the only one to see hope in the angles. But come october I'll be able to add 2002 world champs to my braves tattoo.

The Braves? They always take a big dump when October rolls around. Why would this year be any different? I say Oakland finally breaks through and wins one for all the small markets out there.

I defentley see oakland finally getting past the yanks. I would love to see an A's-Braves series. I just don't thibk without a 100% healthy Mariano Rivera they don't have the a gurrente to win a game in the 9th like years before. plus giambi is'nt 100% either so thats the way I'm calling it.

Because we actually have a bullpen. That's what's hurt us in past years. Our starters would have to go 7+ innings, and get worn out. But now we arguably have the best bullpen in baseball with the best closer, not to mention some very improved hitting.

Yankees will win it all, but hopefully Anaheim will win 2 games because I got tickets to ALDS 5.
Hopefully Robin Ventura will not revert to the old Met ways of getting high for games.

Hopefully the Braves and Yankees will be cleaned out from the get-go so we can have a good series. Still hoping to see the Twins go far in the American League - in the National League - maybe Giants 1st, Cardinals then Diamondbacks.

As for the Twins - probably won't get there, but they'll wind up damn close to 2,000,000 through the turnstiles this year. Wonder what they'll have to say about their revenues? Hard to believe a team could draw almost 2,000,000 and not have the revenues - used to be only a few teams would do 2,000,000 in a year, this year 18 teams hit that mark! But then, Arizona was number 4 with 3,000,000+, and they say they still have financial difficulties, so if a team can't cut it with 3,000,000, there's still some problems to address out there!

Anyway, good to see Anaheim get in there too - no one (well maybe one or two folks) expected that!

I totally agree....how many damn time do we have to see the yankees and braves playing in october...I've come to be an A's fan this year (gotta love the pitching staff) and I like the Angels too...but really if anyone besides the yanks and braves make it to the series, i will watch with interest.

Gozer the Traveller will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldronaii the Traveller came as a very large and moving Torb. Then of course in the third reconciliation of the last of the Meketrex supplicants they chose a new form for him, that of a Sloar. Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day I can tell you.

The Twins are gonna roll, baby!!! Don't forget they were the big underdogs in '87 too, and they prevailed. Besides, the offense is much better now than it was then, with a deeper rotation. There will be no Yankees/A's rematch this year.

Oakland - Sorry, you ran into the wrong team again.
Anaheim - May shock the world, the Yanks are vulnerable this year.
New York - Too many K's and errors to advance far this year.
Atlanta - Best team they've had since '98.
St. Louis - Peaking and healthy at the right time. Terrible bullpen though will always kill you in the playoffs.
Arizona - No Luis, no 3rd starter, done.
San Francisco - Barry shedds the playoff jinx with Aurilia and Kent surrounding him.

Twins / Giants World Series, Twins in 7, of course.

It used to be that payrolls hovered around $10-$15 million, not anymore.

The reason the Twins lose money is the awful lease they have with the Metrodome. All advertising revenue in the building goes to the Vikings. For every luxury suite used during a Twins game, revenues go to the Vikings. It's a bad situation.

I'll be at Game 3 and 4 (if the Twins don't sweep ). Anyone else going to playoff games?
