Does anyone out there have any music Christmas requests? I know I have a few CD's I would like. Hopefully Santa will be good to me.

My List:

Billy Idol, Greatest Hits

Pink Floyd, Echoes

It was out of print for a few years, but now it's available again. Shitty thing is it's only 4 cd's, yet it's usually around $130 around here.

That's it below.

Pink Floyd, Echoes
Elton John, Songs From The West Coast
Smashing Pumpkins, Rotten Apples (Best Of)
Filter, Title Of Record
Bruce Hornsby, Spirit Trail or Harbor Lights or hell, any Hornsby I don't have
Rich Wyman, Fatherless Child (Had the TAPE of this, just want the actual CD)
Bush, The Golden State

Ummm....MEGADETH...really just starting to get into these guys, in desperation, for lack of new Halen...anyone have any suggestions for the best album to pick up?

I got my dad the Slipknot album, Iowa (kind of a gag gift because my parents live in Iowa, but he says he keeps hearing good things about it, so I think he'll appreciate it.)

I got my sister the Black-Eyed Peas. They're a rap group. We both hate rap, but she insists that they're cool. I guess we'll see.

Might wanna move this over into Music.

...except when you have to pay $100 for a collection of music you already have. What's the fucking point? Most box sets are great collections that include unreleased material, alternate versions, a few live jams, interviews... you know, all the "extra" shit. At the very least, remastered recordings. What really yanks my rose is when folks just release a collection of their previously released material and jack up the cost like it's some "collector's item" just because there's some special 4-page booklet containing an essay by some fanboy and some lame gift like an unused guitar pick or a pull-out poster or some crackerjack shit like that. Assholes. Luckily, these seem to be in the minority (and have mostly limited themselves to country music and the Eagles).
