New Line Home Entertainment announced the forthcoming release of "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" on DVD and VHS at a gala event at the historic Warner Bros. studio lot last night. "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" will be available in two distinctly different version on both DVD and VHS formats, on August 6th, and November 12, 2002.

Priced to own at $22.94 on VHS and $29.95 on DVD, the August two-disc DVD includes the folowing features:

Wow, an "R" rating for the Special Edition! That's some interesting footage they must have! I don't think it's necessarily a rip-off. I'll definitely get the regular edition, and rent the special edition and see if it's worth it. Sometimes special editions are a waste of time (T2 is a good example) and you're better off with the regular edition.

I just think they should release the two different editions at the same time instead of taking advantage of gullible-nerds like myself who will probably buy one and then the other!

I'm not holding my breath for a Liv Tyler nude shot, but I hope there's some "Braveheart style" ass-kicking footage added to the battle scenes! It'd be cool to see an orc take a deer antler in the neck (whoa, gettin a little blood thirsty there!

One Night at McCool's (one of the few movies filmed here in St.L) had some hot scenes with Liv , but I don't think they where nude ones...Still, she's a very attractive woman.

There's pics of her in this week's US magazine taken of her vacationing at the beach and she's blimping up again or she has a pretty big "gunt". Here's to hoping she's doing some "method acting" a'la Robert DeNiro did for "Raging Bull"!

The R rating will indeed come from extended battle footage.

Spill all the blood you want, decapitate and eviscerate, graphically depict pain and violence, but DON'T YOU DARE show two grown adults embracing in the passions of love! If that happens, then all hell will break loose. Think of it, people every where, making love, it would be pandemonium.

I have an idea how he got it. I got a buddy at GA tech. Well went to house on day and he wanted to so some movies that he got for his computer. Well the first movie he shows is star War episode 1 before it was out on dvd. If I remember i think the movie just was taken of the movie screens. I was like holy cow how you get that. Well he kind of knew how and told me what they do. So you just got to know the right people.
