Have you ever wondered why the song Could This Be Magic wasn't called Women and Children First? It seems odd that the album title is used in the song, yet they chose to title it (the song) something else.

Having said that, it hadn't occured to me, but 5150 is the only studio album of VH's to have a title track that has lyrics.

Yeah, on 'That's All Folks' it is titled 'Women and Children First', that is strange how they changed the title.

Actually, Sammy had named all of his VH-era cd's while Al designed the art covers. For Balance, Sammy was dead set on naming it 'The Seventh Seal', but Ed insisted on 'Balance', with Al's backing. This was one of the many bitter fights in the last days of Van-Hagar.

Yeah, but "Could This Be Magic?" fits better than "Women And Children First". "Women And Children First" is only mentioned at one point in the song, while "Could This Be Magic?" is heard throughout.

Dude, listen to it again. The line "could this be magic" is sung 3 times in the song while the line "women and children first" is sung 6 times.

Yah I have noticed that way back when too, and now that I think about this concept would only derive from the fact that WACF is sung more than it's title. lol ...

After listening to the song again, I must say: I now feel like an uncle's monkey, thanks to Glenn

I still stand by my original decision, though, that I like "Could This Be Magic?" as a title better. So there!

"Could This Be Women And Children First?" Damn clever, Puff Glenny.

I think the WACF album title is perfect. It gives a sense of "Fair Warning," if you will. There's something untamed and dangerous on this album so you'd best save the women and children first, you dig?

"Could This Be Magic?" fits the song, but not the album, IMO. As an album title it would sound kinda... (dare I go there ) Sammyish. LOL.

Unless, of course, VH were talking about *black magic* and had a seriously twisted cover for the album.

In that case, they'd be in bidness.
