    I have a question regarding Dave's book.
In the book there is a picture of Dave's 4th grade class.
Under the picture he states that people like Vice President Al Gore, Oliver Stone, Stephen Hawking etc. were in his class.
Anyone know if he is serious?
I could not pick them out.
(If true, that is unbelievable to think how much talent and influence came out of one class.)

I think he means the same year not same same classroom.

I've never even been able to pick Dave out in that picture, which one is he?

Anyway, I did a quick web search and Oliver Stone was born in 1946 and Stephen Hawking was born in 1942, so since Dave was born in 1954, it's obvious they weren't all in the same class.

    Thanks guys.
I could not pick Dave out either.
I always thought he was in the front row - 5 from the right, but that does not jive with the caption.
    Anyway, thanks for the info.

I think Dave was being funny in saying that some of the kids in his class looked like these people, but I've never been able to assuredly figure out which ones were which, including Dave himself.

I've heard Dave describe many things in his life as..."just left of center"...in this case he is just that. (In fact, he probably took a step to his left so that he would be.)
He's in the front row, his left of center, next to the boy w/ the tie.

I think Al Gore grew up in Tennesse...
I don't think he ever lived in Cally...Dave's just bein' Dave.

Since we're on the topic of pictures in Dave's book...what is your favorite?

Mine is the one on the page next to his class picture...where he is wearing just gi pants. I think this is one of his best pictures of all time...and I have seen hundreds...

His body is in perfect condition , his hair looks dynomite and I just love the expression on his face...its like he is not even trying to look so awesome!
    God, he's got great lips...
    Anyone else have a favorite?

    DG,

I will have to agree with you there...definately one of the best. There are so many great pics, but my other favorites are:

swinging tarzan - he looks like he's having such a good time; bacstage Houston 82; and the black & white LA Studio Stuff '96.

I love a bunch of the pictures, but especially the "whose pants are worse" one. They are obviously playing Little Guitars and I just love that little guitar that Eddie uses on that song.

I also really like the candid shots, like Dave pulling the boat.

    Hey Kat;

I agree with your 3 choices too:

Dave Tarzan, me Jane. (How cool would that be?)

The wallpaper on my PC is a black and white of Dave from '96. Much like this one. Same shoot I'm sure.

And of course, the assless pants, so classic!

Check him out in the picture where he is outside the radio station w/ the ice cream cone. His lips look delicious.

I kinda like the "Then the old guy goes..." picture - Edward looks like he thinks he's tough, Dave's got his "please, baby" look going, Mike looks like he just swallowed a doobie and is saying "Who, me?" and Alex is just having a good ol' time with it all!

I just scored this book at Borders-they had the hardcover on their "clearance shelf" and I got it for 5 bucks. Great read!

I agree with Diamondsgirl that Dave looks cool in that picture with his Gi pants on. He looks like he's about to do one of his awesome spinning crescent kicks.
