Does anyone have a clue as to what the band members enjoy listening to? I know Dave's alluded to his tastes in his book, but what about the rest of them?

I remember Ed in an interview mentioned he really enjoyed listening to VH. He said it was his favorite thing to listen to. Not being ego'd out, just saying that he wouldnt make music that he would not enjoy listening to himself.

Hopefully Mikey isn't listening to Metallica because he's thinking of joining. But DAMN, Seek and Destroy would sound sweet with those Mikey harmony vocals.

I'm surprised to hear the Eddie listens to Van Halen. I thought I remember reading an interview with him where he gave the standard "once an album is done, I forget about it" line. Although I guess he could have easily given two entirely different answers.

I believe Eddie enjoys classical music quite a bit also.

Ed likes Peter Gabriel. I remember him citing Gabriel in an interview when VH was promoting Balance.

I like Peter Gabriel and when I read Eddie did too, I knew I had a bit of good taste.

    But just a bit.

And Ed has called Al a Zeppelin freak in the past. They both dig Cream. Hearing them talk about Cream is what turned me onto them in fact. (Thanks guys. )

DIF is correct! I remember Eddie saying that he liked Peter Gabriel's So album.
Eddie also likes the band Live.

Billy Sheehan said that Dave doesn't listen to heavy metal, and that he is a huge Frank Sinatra fan.

Sammy Hagar is a big Elvis fan, and he really looked up to Robert Plant when he was younger.

OK, how long before someone starts the "Peter Gabriel's The New Singer For VH" thread?

And let's not forget VH used to dig (and most likely still do) ZZ Top. Who doesn't love ZZ Top?

The Nov. 1999 issue of Guitar World lists some of Eddie's favorite songs and why he likes them...one was Peter Gabriel (Red Rain, I think??) and one was old AC/DC...I'll see if I can dig the article up sometime...
