I'm thinking about getting this book. How good is it? Can anyone give me an example of rare info that most people wouldn't know? I'm not interested in appearances or tour dates.

I would definitely recommend getting this book. It'll answer most of your questions and give a lot of facts and stories from stuff that happened.

I'm shocked that Glenn,s "Someone just posted a question in the 101" alarm didn't go off. LOL

To answer your question, it is a cool book. For some of us that had trouble remembering certain dates, or certain magazine covers etc, it comes in quite handy. I finally picked one up about 4 or 5 months ago, and I like it. As for an odd question one might find in there: What Beatles song did the band play during their tour of Europe in 93? The book has little tidbits like that in it. Go buy one. You'll enjoy it. Out

    Hmmm, never heard of it.

It's great, though if you're not interested in dates, that ruins the last section of the book for you, which is a comprehensive list of dates the band has played through their whole career. The best thing is it puts a whole ton of information right in one place, as opposed to having to search through alot of other sources.

And T5, cut me some slack, I was out buying my Mom a Christmas present this afternoon. I hope she likes her new Van Halen Encyclopedia.

I was hoping it had some humorous road stories or something.

It pretty much reads like an Encyclopedia, Voodoo. Now if road stories you seek, Dave's book has some burly tales of the road. Back to the VHE, go check it out man. Kinda cool. Out.
