Sorry if this question is obvious to some, but I just read an interview from the Balance era, and it explains where Ed got the idea to that kick ass intro to Don't Tell Me (what love can do). Anyone know where it came from?

didn't have something to do with Kurt Cobain's death?

Kurt's suicide inspired Sammy to write the lyrics, but I don't think that's what Greg is getting at here.

With the lyrics, you're right on the money. I read that in the same article. The idea behind the intro, well, here's what it reads...

...like Don't Tell Me what Love Can Do emerged during the last tour's live perfomances.
"During the encores, we did Rockin in the Free World by Neil Young, just for fun. I started doing the scraping thing in that," recalls Eddie of the technique he used on Runnin With the Devil all those years ago, "and that became the intro to Don't Tell Me..."

    Huh Magazine...February 95, Issue 6

Found that kinda intresting, after listening to Rockin in the Free World, you can totally tell. Cool shit!
