Isn't that what they call the walk that Eddie, Sammy and Mike do in LWAN during Best of Both Worlds? So where did it come from?

I saw a clip of a Genesis video (I Can't Dance I think) where they were doing the same walk, and it's the same clip that was used on the cover of their Live-The Way We Walk album from 1992.

I think we need to get Genesis on the phone for an explanation.

Frankly, it's a pretty dorky walk, but idea theft can't be allowed to continue like this.

I think its a direct response to the little jumps that the three of them did (MA, DLR, EVH) during Aint Talkin Bout Love on the 84 tour, if u have any bootleg vids youlll see this. How did that come about?

Wasn't the 5150 walk what they did as they exited the stage after talking a bow also?

After I posted the first part here, I finished watching the video, and after they bow the four of them walk off stage doing the 5150 walk. And Sammy actually refers to it as the 5150 walk.

I think Genesis better start quivering in their boots.

Hmmmm...I may be wrong about this, but I believe the '5150' walk originated in 'The Breakfast Club' and NOT by VH.

Anyone have a year for that movie? Just wondering...

According to Amazon.com the Breakfast Club came out in 1985. It's been a long time since I've seen it, anybody know when they did the walk in the movie?

I don't know if anyone remembers this but back in the early '70's Ed and Alex had been calling their then group's name Genesis. That is until one day they were in a record store looking around and Eddie said " Hey Al, we've got a record out! "

So maybe they owe Genesis one.

Uhm? Well I guess you could call it the 5150 dance.

The walk on the other hand I'm sure was in part to the alblum name meaning "somebody crazy and flipped out" and just to point this out it may have been a "test" each time they walked off the stage after a concert to see how fucked up they were at the end of a show. Meaning like "walk the line" a police term for somebody drinking and testing them.

I mean really could you see Ed's eyes at the end of LWAN? Man he was ripped gorded out of his mind! lol ...

Well I think the walk is kind of like the "Keep on Truckin" poster that was famous in the early 70's. My parents had that poster when I was a mini t5. That is what the 5150 walk reminds me of. Just an observation on the all grown up t5. LOL. Out.

at least the hops in jump were original, god they were so much cooler in the DLR days.

I saw the 5150 tour when they came around, i thought they sounded good but very boring on stage, no energy. i almost fell asleep!

When I saw this topic that is what came to my mind. But I don't remember the video.
