On the dust jacket of the Diver Down LP there is a picture of Dave and someone else holding up an obviously home-made banner. What does that banner say?

And with a little detective work you can figure out almost for sure where that picture was taken.

"Come on Dave Give us a F**kin Break!!!", probably The Spectrum in Philadelphia (they played there July 20-22 - although I don't know if the dates are a giveaway 'cause on the left looks as if it might say "MSG (or some other way for Madison Square Garden) July 17"). How you can tell that Dave is helping to hold it up is beyond me! Those are some awesome shots - wish I could see 'em bigger and in living colour!

Damn 007, I thought this question would last longer than that. I guess since you asked a vinyl question yourself though, I should have known you'd get it. Looking at the picture, Dave is the one on the left. You can tell because you can see the legs of his pants, those spandex ones he's wearing in most of the live shots. Check out the picture at the bottom left; Dave looks like he's about a mile in the air.

Yeah, he was something! That's one of my favourite shots in the "Jump" video when he does the split off the riser - such a classic image and to see it in motion. It's funny, I think I saw it on Brad's Timeline, but I just read where he injured himself during the photo shoot for II, and even though I didn't know that for a fact, that's what I used to tell everyone back in the late 70's that the picture of him with the nurses was a result of the picture on the back cover - probably didn't happen exactly that way, but I guess I was closer than I knew!

I have a picture of a similar photo collage that includes a lot of the pictures in the Diver Down inner sleeve design. I think I got it from Brad Starks' old VHE web site. Although the size of the photos aren't much bigger than the LP sleeve, they are in living color. And it does include that banner picture.

There's a lot of pictures that it would be cool to see the INSIDE, or someone, make full size posters out of. Like the picture in the Diver Down album of VH bowing to the crowd at the Tangerine Bowl. How cool would it be to have a huge poster of that?

Responding to Mark Van Halen... I took the "No Bozos" name because Eddie used to wear a T-shirt with the No Bozos name and logo on it way back around 1983. If you've ever seen the intro to that Sinatra video with Dave and Ed, he's wearing it there. You can also see it in a lot of old Kramer guitar ads in magazines.

I just took a look at that shirt on ebay, and realized everything I just typed could have been learned there. So ....nevermind
