    The dude is unstoppable.

First, for six consecutive albums he single-handedly revolultionizes the sound of rock with his band Van Halen culminating in the smash multi platinum 1984 which spawned his brilliant hit single Jump.

Then he embarks on a groundbreaking solo career cranking out risky and innovative material that is adored by critics and fans alike. Record buyers are awed by the guitar acrobatics of Steve Vai and Billy Sheehan and John Lowry. The momentum never ends with Roth still reveling in his solo artist success to this day.

And then, in a fit of marketing genius he masterminds the concept of a tour with his VH replacement Sammy Hagar. The tour is a resounding success as stadiums are being filled to capacity like condoms in a Thai brothel.

Now that he has conquered the planet Earth all the DLR fanatic can ask now is, "What's next?"

Naturally I hope for some sort of reconciliation with VH. If not, I hope that Dave will release some of his unreleased material like that Brass version of "Ice Cream Man" that he did with Nile Rogers and Edgar Winter a few years back. I would also like him to do a more innovative album like Skyscraper. The sky is the limit with him. You just never know.

There's only thing I can think of that Dave does 'single-handedly', and it's a topic not really meant for public discussion.

Indeed. The way he masterfully lays down those guitar solos served to prove he was a true guitar genuis and the inspiration for a decade of would-be guitar heroes that would copy his sound.

Then he embarks on a groundbreaking solo career cranking out risky and innovative material that is adored by critics and fans alike. I must say the fact that ALAE and YFLM continue to be short-stocked in stores today simply prove how solid the selling power of his solo work is and remains to be. I don't think WB could ever produce enough copies of YFLM to reach the overwhelming demand out there for it.

And then, in a fit of marketing genius he masterminds the concept of a tour with his VH replacement Sammy Hagar. The tour is a resounding success as stadiums are being filled to capacity like condoms in a Thai brothel.
Truly an event of mammoth proportions. Why, the idea of it is so obscenely genuis you would have thought Sammy himself came to him with that idea years before. But we all know that only the lucid mind of Dave, a man who is ALWAYS 100% clear and easily understood in interviews, could hatch such a plan.

"Just once I'd like to do the right thing and not get punished for it."
