I was doing some figuring...
I read that the Sam and Dave was one of the top Grossing tours of 2002 with an average of $350,000 a nite.

$350,000
x 45 shows
--------
$15,750,000
You figure half for expenses
$7,875,000
Half for Sam, that leaves
$3,937,500

So (VERY) roughly Dave walks away with at LEAST $4 Mil.

Seeing as how he hasn't done jack shit since 1998 except a few mediocre tours and disappears after each one...I figure with an injection of 4 Mil into his purse it's gonna be QUITE a while before we hear from our hero...

How many more times do we need to hear about how the oppressive Raj's wore villainous black capes, crafted cunning plastic masks to impersonate people, and drained all the blood from their slaves so they could keep the fluid in bottles in their dungeons? I mean, YAWN!

But if you're willing to sit through this dry sort of historical drama one more time -- or even just this dry historical review -- you will not be disappointed. In fact, some of you might just learn something they didn't teach you in school!-

I really think that Roth will try to take advantage of whatever spot light the tour gave him/Sammy and try to run with it into another project. I could be wrong though.

i know this is just another anti-dave thread with all the usual pointless rhetoric... but i do want to throw in that i think dave will release some new music with his band that he toured with this summer- sometime within the next year... i think there will be some good music on it, and i also think that dave will be doing more than VH does in the next year (its easy to do more than nothing...)

I'm going to send this to the Speculation forum since that's basically what it involves.

I really hope Dave releases something soon, it's been far too long since we saw where he's at creatively (musically and lyrically). I was hoping the DVD would get released but I guess that's not going to happen. Dave's never going to be back in VH, it's time to either continue his solo career or retire. I'd prefer the former, but I'm not sure Dave isn't leaning toward the latter.

Can you just imagine the back catalog of VH stuff that was never released? If Dave gets his band to play some of that stuff, it would practically be VH! (Yea, yea, minus VH... I know.)

Yeah Turd, Sammy now can release solo album number 4, try to reach a million in sales (all 4 albums combined that is ) and continue his mediocre career. And, don't tell me "at least he records new music". He has to he's useless w/o VH. Actually, he's useless w/VH

First of all, what's with the name-calling?

I'm not bashing Dave, I'm mereley pointing out that we've been hearing of "releasing new music with his new band" for over four years and all we've got was that god-awful "LAATPHT" and the even worse "Flex" video's.

One would think that like ross said that he would take advantage of the publicity this latest tour has given him. It seems he's going back into hiding after this tour. Like he's done for the past ten+ years.

I'm thinking, with this much money, he's really going to go into hiding. Might be a LONG while before we hear a peep outta him.

Unlike good ol' sam, DLR made it into a few magazines and tv spots after the VMA's. Mods, please just close this lame thread so it doesn't turn into what is supposedly not allowed anymore. Thanks.

Then by definition, The music Eddie isn't releasing is just as good as the music Dave isn't releasing?

Give me a break, typical rothfan tunnel vision thinking, Sammy is a working artist at least, if it was reversed ya'll would be saying the same thing. I'm tired of the double standard rothfans apply, Dave's last CD sold what, 100,000? but Sam's are a failure I guess when they do about the same. When I read just one post from a rothfan who has some actual insight instead of blind loyalty, I will be truly shocked.

As for the rest of ya...Let me try and break it down.

Where is Roth right now?
Why is it, after every tour he disappears?
Is he ever going to release some new music?
