Dave is cool onstage, he was a part of a great rock band called Van Halen who currently don't have a record deal. Dave in concert is like seeing a cover band of a past phenomenom. Sammy can sing better than Dave on Dave's best day. Anyone who understand MUSIC can understand this fact. Sammy has been around since 1973 non-stop because he is a professional. Dave was playing to 150-300 people 2 and 3 years ago because nobody cared anymore. Sammy has given him this gist to play in front of Sammy's fans who he has benn playing for since he left Van Halen. I have seen Sammy 5 times since 1995 and he packs 15000-20000 people in everytime, why? because he is a real musician(Dave had to have to the guitar tuned open so he could play the easy Ice Cream Man), and a real professional. Good luck to Dave once this tour is over because the spotlight will fade again on his nostalgia trip...see ya in Cabo!!!!

I totally disagree with everything you said...

Welcome to VHForums, though.

Since this is more geared toward your personal view of Dave and Sam than it is about the actual tour, I'm going to move this thread to the Opinions/Speculation forum, man.

PS - Dave rocks!

Boy Sammy sure is talented. I especially like when he runs up the wall and does a backflip in his yellow jumpsuit. He's super.

All kidding aside, Sammy is pretty kick-ass but Dave has earned his spot at the head of the cool table.

have any of you sammy fans bothered to check on what the record sales were for Red Vodoo and Marching to Mars ???

do it, it should humble you and make you stop stating that sammy has such a great post-van halen solo career. compare roth's first two solo albums to those mentioned above.

Only 6,000 fans bothered to show in Indy. Neither Sam or Dave have sold many records lately. VH3 sold approx. 500,000 units.
There you go folks. Enough said. It seems time is passing us ALL by.

I'd like to quote one of Stuff No More's posts which is a perfect response:

Yeah, never mind the fact that Dave left Van Halen after an album that sold 10 million+ copies, landed on the same record label (WB), and had the benefit of said label pushing the hell out of his catalog as an attempt to recoop from the split from VH and, seemingly, develop two similarly popular acts whereas Sammy left amid the '96 reunion debacle, landed on a smaller label, and was summarily not pushed and not played on the radio.

And that's not even going into the fact that Dave and Sam's brand of rock was the rage in '86 and dead in '96.

heshi--do you have the minerals to lay down a lil' sweet tooth boogie lowdown gutbucket blues like Ice Cream Man?

I think it's cool that Sambo is opening with Rock n Roll--that's a cooker. An' jammin' with Sweaty Teddy on Wild Thing--that was probably pretty cool. He needs to ditch Eagles and Give--I was sick of those tired tunes in '95(even '93!!).

Classic Van Halen material--that's where it's at...sho 'nuff!!!!!!!
