I find a number of things absolutely astonishing!
First and most recent.

How could we have not gotten any comment out of MA at NAMM?

How long does the band think that even their most loyal fans will put up with the silence?

And now it seems that we are being disrespected by Brad at The Dome (with no real reason for the closure) and "The Inside" is even disrespecting us with an almost two-year break inbetween magazines and regular push backs with the date for the "double-issue".

I'll tell all of you this...VAN HALEN NEEDS TO COME BACK IN A MAJOR WAY IN ORDER FOR ALL OF THIS TO BE FORGOTTEN!!! Their next management team better have more than a few tricks up their sleeve.

It's unbelievable all of the negative vibes we have right could have easily been avoided by an occasional statement even if nothing is/was going on.

Face it, dude.

Van Halen is done.

Mikey has resorted to giving middle fingers in pictures. Deal with that.

Look forward to Dave's DVD!

Well I wouldn't quite say that VV. While things are looking mighty bleak right now I am hopeful for the future.

It's just that the silence is ridiculous!!!

In my opinion, VH should do the following in order to get themselves back on track towards immortality (because right now Van Halen is on the fast track towards "Guns N' Roses Status")...

1. Resolve the lead singer situation. Get DLR! If not, get Sammy! Then choose a major forum to announce who the singer is.

2. Get in the studio and make the best CD you can without over producing the music. Record in the mindset of Van Halen I and set a reasonable timetable (2 months tops) to write and record the CD.

3. Become as publicly visable as possible for about 2-4 months leading up to the release date.

4. Upon release on the CD do a ton of meet-and-greets. Go on Howard Stern. Go on Opie and Anthony. Work with VH1 (F**k MTV) Do anything and everything you can to get the fans excited about the band again.

5. Interviews. Unless the interview has to do with a instrument related magazine. Do all interviews as a band.

6. Take a lesson from Bon Jovi. Never ever publicly bash one another. "Family business stays within the family".

7. Tour the world. Rock our asses off and most of all enjoy yourselves. It's only rock and roll!!!

8. No opening band for the tour. A three-hour show a la Springsteen if you please.

9. Again stay visable to the public. Play award shows, Super Bowls, car commercials. Hey it worked for U2 and Aerosmith so why not?

10. Under no circumstances take any career advise from Gene Simmons for KISS!!!! God did he f**k up the legacy of KISS or what?!?!?

But that would be the "sane" thing to do. Lets not forget, we are dealing with the "insane".

I agree, it's been damn frustrating. But I dunno what to tell you... I will always listen to my Van Halen CD's and will always like the band...But as far as any new stuff happening? I doubt it.

Well I certainly agree with the f**k MTV part, Atomic P. As for us putting up with the silence, we don't really have much of a choice now, do we? Can Eddie not make a damn decision, or what?

Til he does, my advice for all of us is to start drinking heavily. Pass the Beer nuts.

Throw out #s 9 & 10. They contradict each other. Since when is doing a car commercial cool in the rock world?!

I understand your point about the commercial FullBud. However, I never said that it was cool but in the recent past it has helped Sting, & Aerosmith sell some extra copies of their CD's.

I must state again that under no circumstances should they take any advise from Gene "The greediest f**ker in the game" Simmons. The guy screwed Ace and Peter from the reunion tour all the way to the writing of his book. VH should do what Kiss (Gene & Paul) failed to do. That is make the music thier #1 priority, not their bank accounts.

Things are about as bad as they've been for our boys. What they need to do is come out as a band and give us SOME info. Not just the brothers, not Ed & Val, but all three members. Go on VH1 or Stern as suggested and let loose. They've gotta realize that even if they are at a stalemate we'll accept it as long as we here it from the horses mouth. They've got to show some respect to the people responsible for their fame and fortune.
