The KLOS Rock Report (by DJ Rita Wilde) announced the following Wednesday, "Speaking of box sets, one that i can't wait for is the Van Halen set which will feature all sorts of archived tracks. It is hoped that the disc will be out before the end of the year."

We've been hearing about this box set for years and hopefully this is fact.

This is just a thought, but could Warner Bros release a box set without permission or participation of the band? It would probably be short on studio rarities (I would imagine anything after 1984 is safely locked away at 5150)but I bet they could put something together.

All's I know is, it better not just be a repackaging of the stuff I have already.
I skipped on the Best Of in spite of the 2 new Dave tracks.
If they do it right and load it with unreleased stuff, I'll be more than eager to shell out
the 50 boogers they'll no doubt want for it.

How the hell does he know? He also said that Mike wouldn't be working with Sammy (the whole Rols and AzFullBug thing). I do not believe a thing he says. He has no idea what is happening, but is trying to make himself more than what he is.
Van Halen is as Van Halen does, momma used to say.

A boxed set doesn't make sense, because all the hard rock acts learned from Jimmy Page: release a boxed set with random album tracks with a few extras, then hit the fans again for the original remastered official releases.

Van Halen already released it's remastered Roth catalog, so it's doubtful there's much revenue there. Wuld you buy all six CDs again for a few cast off tunes?

It's also questionable they would do a Sammy boxed set because all the outakes and songs that were not up to snuff actually made it on the albums.
