I'm in the process of reading "Crazy from the Heat", and I would just have to say that Dave is one of the most bi polar people that I have ever read about. He talks about one thing in a paragraph totally unrelated to the topic. It's great reading though. I have laughed out loud so many times. I highly recomend this book to everyone here. Go out and buy it!!

Anyone else find this book a little hard to understand at times??

Just to go back to the original post for a second, I have to admit that I don't know the correct definition of bi-polar. I have no problem with the statement that Dave tends to jump from topic to topic, in fact, I agree with it. But isn't that pretty much the way life is in general. That book was basically the world according to Dave, and since his life (like most peoples) hasn't followed a straight line, why expect his storytelling to follow a straight line?

I agree that he doesn't have a normal life... but it is a great story.

The book is pretty much the way I picture Dave talking to you one on one...all over the place. His interviews go the same way...he's all over the place.

I agree, that's why I find the version of Dave reading chapter 1 of his book on his site so disappointing. I only listened to what would be the first three pages or so, but he was reading it so slow it was wrecking it for me. When I read the book, I picture Dave telling the stories much more animated than that.

I guess the script for that book was over a thousand pages... imagin how far he went off on a tangent about some of that stuff.

There's bootleg CD's, there should be a bootleg book of the rest of Crazy From the Heat that didn't make the final cut.
