Ive watched people on this site for at least a year call each other names such as:
Rothtards(very mature)
Cheeseheads(not much better)
Most of the time for no other reason than they prefer one over the other.
So i start a thread stating that the reason we dont have any new music from VH basically
is the fault of all involved.
And i get accused of wanting to start a fight.
Well excuse me.
Would it have been taken better if i had just blindly blamed one or the other.Or just Ed & Al.
Sammy says its inevitable.
Roth said the same thing last year.
All i am saying is bring on #4
At this point i would take another Cherone album
over absolutely nothing.

Screw that no.4 bullshit. And while were at it the same goes for the instrumental crap. If they won't do anything with the original members then it isn't Van Halen. I want my Van Halen, not some Yngwie Van Satriani.

I think Roth will be back, I think Hagar will be back, but it wont be for long periods of time. I think they'll probably get together to record an album every ten years or so and then break up for another ten or so years.

I think you mised the point waldo. For decades people said that Black Sabbath with Ozzy would never work. They got there shit together and acted like adults for there Reunion Tour, which kicked ass.(OZZFEST 2000) I am a Sabbath fan from all eras but seeing the original line up was phenomenal. Ozzy's best songs are from his Sabbath days. Van Halen died in '85. Roth's game has never been better. Sammy couldn't even finish the motherfuckin' tour. The Dream Is Over is horseshit yuppie barbecue watered down classic Van Halen "Foreigner" tune. Van Hagar--Rest In Piss!!!!!!

Who gives a flying fuck, really?

I mean, come on... who in their right mind would really be pacing the floor, holding their breath expecting either a "Van Hagar" OR a "Van Roth" reunion tour to come off at this point? Nothing's completely impossible, (especially when the Bros. Van Halen's bank accounts start sagging to Roth-like levels... hey... Sammy's makin' a mint in the Tequila business now... lol) but if anyone out there is really getting all hot and bothered by someone else's reunion FANTASY clashing with theirs these days, I'm sorry... but they SERIOUSLY need a fuckin' hobby.

At this point, I think I'd seriously prefer Ed & Al coming out and officially pulling the plug so that EVERYONE could freakin' move on already to a half-hearted, short-lived, only-in-it-for-the-money-and-it-shows Reunion with either Roth OR Hagar. I'm a biased guitarist, I just want to hear Ed making music again, preferably with the good taste to just go ahead and call it "The Edward Van Halen Project" or something. I think all of these guys would be a lot happier and would produce much better music in the long run without the stress of all the bullshit reunion hype hanging over their heads at this point, which is why it baffles me why they don't just pick a direction and run with it already... what possible good could all the acrimony and outright bitterness be doing anybody right now?

As for all the futile, puerile clan-bickering around here, it seems to have for the most part subsided for now, so why sweat it?

All I can say is that Dave & Sammy are both still making music, which seems to both delight and disgust equal numbers of their opposing fanbases, silly to be sure, but hey... at least they're still at it. The Bros. Van Halen, loony though they may be, are still two monumentally talented cats with a helluva lot of great music left in them, and if they could just wake from their self-induced stupor long enough to realize this, maybe, just maybe they can remember how good they are at making music, and how much happier they both certainly seemed to be when they were actually still MAKING it.

Hey, I can dream, dammit...

When you say old hack are you referring to Tony Iommi?
