I like the new Tribe of Judah cd pretty well. I like "left for dead". About three years ago, Inside magazine reported that this tune was recorded for the second album with Gary. When I hear it, I imagine what it would be like to hear the "real" version. Anyone know anything about this and anything else unreleased with Gary?

From what I understand, Gary's version is not the same musically as the VH version. The lyrics may be however.

    SPB,

What's wrong with asking a simple question? If you don't like Gary fine. I can respect your opinion but you should understand that not everyone shares that opinion.

Drop this attitude now or take a walk. If you have nothing to add to this topic, then keep quiet. Nobody asked for your opinion on Gary Cherone.

Van Halen are continuing work on their new album despite not having a lead singer. (See below for updates previous to Gary Cherone's departure)

Danny Kortchmar, whose credits include Neil Young, Don Henley and Joe Cocker, is presently producing the album. Check here for a complete list of his past work. Patrick Leonard also produced two tracks off the new album.
Contrary to many rumors floating on the Internet, Gary Cherone will be singing the lead vocal tracks on the new album.
According to the webmaster of van-halen.com, the rough demo tracks are rockin'! He described the band as sounding somewhere in between the albums "1984" and "F.U.C.K". He described the drum sound as very similar as the drums on "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge".
At least 20 demos have been written so far! Tentative titles include: Left For Dead, River Wide, Say Uncle, You Wear It Well, Rock and Roll Cliche, I Want Her Anyway, More Than Yesterday, Love Again, Miss You Much and Sad Celibate.
Alex Van Halen mentioned in a radio interview that the band is aiming to release the as yet unnamed album in Spring 2000
Edward Van Halen said in the October 1999 Guitar World magazine interview that there may be a cello solo performed by Ed on one of the tracks!
Pre-productions for some of the songs began on August 19th. Alex Van Halen recorded some drum tracks for "Love Again" on that day.
Gary Cherone mentioned in an interview with The Inside that Sad Celibate had very much the feel of a (Led) Zeppelin opus. Michael Anthony also hinted that he would like to sing lead on a track from the new album.

oh man, i remember reading updates on their progress with Gary. I remember thinkin that I wasn't crazy about their first album with Sammy, but they got better together quickly. I'll admit, I enjoy listening to III while relaxin, playin solitaire or drivin sometimes.

I still think the second Gary album coulda been pretty damn good. I'd like to hear those tracks.
Gozer the Traveller will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldronaii the Traveller came as a very large and moving Torb. Then of course in the third reconciliation of the last of the Meketrex supplicants they chose a new form for him, that of a Sloar. Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day I can tell you.
