I've got the wierd feeling we're gonna see alive cd from DLR when this tour is all said and done. I think Dave is coming to the conclusion that the VH thing-for one reason or another is not gonna happen- and what better way to get noticed than put out a cd full of live VH classics?
I don't know just a thought I've had for the last few days.

I remember it was rumored that a live CD was going to come out of his 1999 tour.

I'd love an official live CD of classic Van Halen tunes, but I'd prefer it to be the real Van Halen doing them.

Me too Glenn, a live album of Van Halen classics with substitute musicians just doesn't sound right to me.

Van Halen put out "LIVE: Right here, right now" that included 4 classics from the Dave era, which were sung by a "substitute" musician

Alright all you Hagar heads, give it to me

You know, performing them at a concert I can see him getting away with, but could Dave LEGALLY release a CD of live Van Halen tracks on a label other than WB?

They shouldn't have asked or insisted that Sammy sing those songs. Not that he did a bad job, but just out of respect for Roth.

Maybe WB will be the ones releasing it? It just might be the closest thing to a Van Halen album they'll ever see again.

I suppose if, somehow out of all of this, Dave got a record deal from WB contingent on him doing a live set of classic tunes that would be plausible. It would seem to me that such a thing would be the strongest signal that the chances of DLR and VH working together again are nonexistant. Why would WB sign 1/4 of Van Halen to perform those songs if they had any hope of 4/4 in the near future?

Because 1/4 of Van Halen with songs that will sell is better than 3/4 of Van Halen and an unqualified singer, with an album full of crap that won't. (As was already proven on March 17, 1998)

I still say the best thing to do is use modern technology to combine Dave's vocals from the 99 tour with the music from the VDIII tour and make a Van Halen live album out of it. Hey if the Beatles could do it on Anthology, why the Hell not?
