Actually I was thinking at some presentation or newsletter or some marketing move to introduce the remasters. One more time, we got to know of them via Internet, not via traditional medias. Living in Italy, the possibility to purchase them isn't there yet...

Nothing in the UK either by the looks of things. I'm waiting for the reviews of the re-releases in the monthly music magazines. With the lack of 'real wold' advertising. WB must be relying on the printed media to do their hyping for them I guess. That's the only way I can make sense of this lack of hoopla...

My own guess is that WB is in the process of progressivly remastering older albums (hence the capton ones etc) and just rolled out the VH ones to get them in place, and into stores while VH get their shit together - when VH finally release whatever it is they are doing at the moment, expect to see some promotion then.

Dunno... I think if WB was expecting VH to break loose and be popular again they would hype this even a little bit to make some money in the meantime.

Most times a label actually does remastering is after the band switches labels though, since it's the only way they can make any more money off the back catalog. But with VH I'm sure it's a slightly different situation, as the original CDs probably sold strongly enough and would without remastering.

I guess what we do is just sit and wait like we've been doing since November of last year. Doesn't look too promising for any word or new music from the boys in 2000.

nightprowler, if you're asking whether the 6 albums that have been remastered and released are the ONLY ones to be remastered and released, the answer is yes.

Oh, I think I misunderstood your question, then.

I thought you were only asking about the VH remasters. LOL. I don't know about any of the other artists remasters being released.

I thought you were asking if only the first 6 albums by VH were the only VH albums being remasterd.

I believe that several other WB artists were released on the same day...I can't remember who though...(one-track VH mind right now).

My question isn't why aren't they hyping it, but rather why are only the first 6 albums being remastered? An honest answer to that would probably make us all smile for a few months.

    Shhhhh, Mike!!

You might make "some" people think that Dave could be back...

SINCE ONLY FIRST SIX ALBUMS WERE REMASTERED.

    LOL.

I asked my WB rep that exact question and he said they (WB) were NOT going to do anything promotionally with the remasters. I'm not sure how you all feel about them, but I really think someone could have spent an extra hour in the layout room and come up with something a LITTLE more creative than the turd-brown color we got thrown on each disc. At least a VH logo or a vintage pic from the corresponding era.

I wondered about if they (WB) were just doing the remasters to sqeeze out some more $$$ from us and get what they could before VH jumped ship to another label. It's not like that's never been done before. I know nothing and haven't heard anything...just thinking...(dangerous to do!)

I actually referred to the color as puke yellow, but either way we agree. The CD's themselves look terrible. At the very least they should have had a colorful VH logo on them, but even better would have been the album cover on them.
