Can somebody please explain something. How could VH put those two absolutely terrible songs at the end of Fair Warning? I mean, the album is incredible up until that point. I'd rather hear Ed fart than listen to Sunday Afternoon or One Foot Out The Door.

I think it just has to do with what was going on at the time, Jerry. A lot of anger behind the scenes, and Ed and Donn Landee working late at night with nobody around. That's definitely Ed you hear in those two tracks.
They may not be the best they've put out, but "One Foot Out The Door" gets me charged up every time, and if it weren't for "Sunday Afternoon", Mike wouldn't have Bass solo material.

'One Foot Out the Door' was titled perfectly because it was a last section addition to the album from what I've heard. Not one of the better tunes on the album put the outro is awesome!

I personally like both those songs, they're weird sounding and dark.
Ed's solo on One Foot Out the Door is amazing!

The only thing wrong with "One Foot Out The Door" is that it's too short.

But that can be said about the entire Van HALEN album catalog.

No shit, don't all the Dave albums only average about 25-30 mins. long each?

I don't like Sunday Afternoon In The Park at all. One Foot Out The Door is alright I guess, I can listen to it once in a while.

30 - 35, I think.

But if you take the listenable parts of the Van Hagar albums, they probably actually work out to be even shorter At least you don't have to skip songs on the Van HALEN albums (I'll Wait being a possible exception)

Both are unusual VH songs, but I like them. I prefer OFOTD over SAITP.

One Foot Out the Door is cool. It really comes alive when you find yourself saying "ain't no match for your mean ol' man!"

It's not really a complete song. The plan at the time was to have the following album's first track be the companion piece to OFOtD.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the Dave era VH albums were shorter because they came out before the days of CDs. They had to make it all fit on an album or even <gasp> and 8-track tape

Sunday Afternoon In The Park and One Foot Out The Door are definitely an acquired taste. They rock like hell though, and the outro on One Foot Out The Door is pretty wild.
