This may be premature but if Van Halen is in the studio with the Diamond who do you think should be the producer ? I would say the obvious , Ted Templeman , but are there any other kick ass producers out there other than Glenn Ballard ? I doubt it will be Mike Post

Hey, at least I didn't say Mike Post. Just throwing a different name out there, and I love Everclear.

I would say it's gotta be Ted. But failing that, Brendan O'Brien is DAMN good.

Ted Templeman, Bob Rock, Glenn Ballard any of these three would be great, should be Ted though.

maybe Gene Simmons..LOL..maybe he will get the sound they had on their demo before vh 1..if u listen to the demos, it reminds me of van halen with a KISS sound..duh maybe because gene was producing..gene did a shitty job of trying to capture vh's sound..

i hope the producer "whoever" is smart enough to know that mike and al need to be at equal volume to capture that magic. together they are as good as ed.

You guys must have some great ears! I don't follow producers and their careers, but some great sounding albums are

Shania Twain - Come on Over
    AC/DC - Back in Black

So I must like this Mutt Lange fellow

The two albums from The Refreshments

Tom Petty - Full Moon Fever

Semisonic album that has "Closing Time" on it, total ear candy.............

I also think that Scot Humphries would be pretty cool. I though Generation Swine was a quality album.

Jimmy: I think ANGEL4U was joking.

There is no way that "Mutt" Lange would be the producer. Thing is, Mutt is a friend of Sammys (Sammy did some work with Heart and Mutt was producing those tracks). VH has clearly taken some distance from "Sammys camp" and I think collaboration would be unlikely.
