I'm starting to worry about Wolfie's mental and physical well being. Having a father who is an alcoholic, drug user, smoker, adulterer, and a liar, must be hard. What is he learning from his father (besides how to play musical instruments)? How to drink and smoke as much as you can and lie to your wife/mother without blinking an eye? Oh, I know, make up stories to get sympathy. That will help you get by in life. Or, maybe, how to blame everyone else for your mistakes so you don't have to own up to them. It's Dave's fault, no it's Sammy's faults, no wait, it's Ray Daniels fault. And Valerie ain't much help either. She's nothing but an enabler. She lets Eddie get away with everything by pretending it's not happening. What a great household Wolfie lives in. Does anyone here at the Links have contacts with the Child Protective Services there in California? If so, maybe, they should look into this. Wolfie's welfare is more important than Eddie's or Val's reputations. If you think about it, it's kind of hard to believe that they havn't been investigated yet by Child Protective Services or whatever it is they have there in California. I guess money talks and no one has check them out yet. If it was Joe shmoe on the block acting like this the law would be far up their ass.

I hate to tell you this, but whether Ed is a good parent or not isn't in your concern. At least it shouldn't be. You're just pissed because we got some bad news this weekend. If there was no bad news, you'd consider him God again right? Leave the personal shit out. This is about the BAND! Leave it at that.

The Pilgrims/Americans/Somersets whatever you want to call them, have NEVER displayed "SOX" anywhere on their caps, jerseys, or merchandise, therefore they shouldn't be referred to as such. However, the White Sox have used "SOX" since 1912.

The SOX are in Chicago...we just allow the Pilgrims/Americans/Somersets to use the name.

whether he is a good parent or not isn't up to us to decide.
Does he set a bad example for his son by continuing to smoke when he already has cancer? I think so.

But at least he is spending some time with him by taking him with him out on the golf course.

To comment on this, Gully you have NO IDEA what Eddie's relationship with his son is. But it seems from what has been put out in the press that he is a VERY healthy relationship with his son. For you to say that people who are alcoholics are unfit parents disgusts me. There are plenty of wonderful parents who suffer from all kinds of addictions, but put their children before anything, and would die for them. There are also those with "healthy lives" who are the worst parents possible, and I know a few.

I could say you are an unfit parent because you are vulgar and have some very strange political views. In fact, in many ways I consider those to be far more detrimental to a child's growth than having an adulteress parent.

Thanks to Tim for saying it first - I hardly find this worthy of discussion. Not only is it not our concern, it's just a downright cheap, vindicitive shot.

It isn't a cheap shot, it's just a question.

Most every news snippet of Eddie appearing in a public place this last year has involved his activities with his son, from concerts to school projects to celebrity golf outings.

I've got no problem with someone being critical of a public figure. Eddie's few appearences over the last year have largely involved his son. If someone wants to discuss the relationship, that's fine.

I do think the bit about child protective services is a bit much, though.

Eddie and Val have put Wolfie in the public eye, along with their relationship with him. Al, Sam, and Mike have chosen to keep their kids out of the press for the most part. Once you do things like get into golf-cart accidents and blame them on your son, it's fair game.

My advice is if you don't like such topics, don't comment. They'll go away faster that way.

O'Migthty WebMaster, you miss my point. It's not just the alcoholism, it's everything. The lying, decieving, adultry; the drug use, and the manipulation of people. This is not a healthy enviroment. I just wondered if they were every look into by the Child Protective Service. But to insinuate that being an alcoholic parent is fine because some sober parents are bad is wrong on your part. There is nothing good about alcoholism.

I could say you are an unfit parent because you are vulgar and have some very strange political views. In fact, in many ways I consider those to be far more detrimental to a child's growth than having an adulteress parent.

Vulgar? Yeah, maybe sometimes. Strange politcal views? What's strange about Democracy and Capitalism? Maybe you're refering to my religious views? What I'm asking you all to do is to think about this situation and not to turn away from a potential problem. There might not be one. Probably isn't one but it wouldn't hurt to check the siuation out. Some of you think Eddie is so perfect you can't tolerate it when someone questions his person. That type of blind devotion is what is unhealthy.

Angel4U, what are you confused about in my first post? The "who" = relatives, teachers, neighbors etc. etc.
