If you listen to Van Halen's first album it is clearly evident that Edward was influenced by Mick Mars' guitar techniques. You just know he studied Shout At The Devil day and night copping every lick and implementing it into his style. Personally I happen to think Eddie way better than Mick.

When you said heavily influenced, by Mick Mars, I thought you meant he took Eddie out & got him drunk...

But guitar playing?

Hit that bong again, dude.
Q: Recording the album took so long your Australian tour last year was cancelled. What was it like in the studio? There's a history of tension between you and Eddie Van Halen...

Actually, I don't think theodore was kidding! I just listened to "On Fire" and it bears a STRIKING resemblence to "Come On And Dance" which Mick wrote in 1975...........................

Mick Mars is a good guitar player but compared to Eddie, c'mon. It's like comparing ground chuck to filet mignion.

What? Mick Mars is a HORRIBLE guitar player. Not only was Eddie not even aware the guy could play the guitar, but I bet half of Eddie's guitar techs and Wolfie's friends can smoke this guy. He sucks!

Mick Mars is a four-chord bandit. I'm better than he is on guitar, and I'm primarily a bass player.

It's true. Eddie copied all of Mars's licks. If you listen to LITTLE GUITARS, it's actually a total DR. FEELGOOD rip-off. Eddie has said that he got a really special promo copy of the DR. FEELGOOD album, six years before it even came out, five before it was even written, and ripped the track off. It's so obvious. They're practically the same song. Eddie should be ashamed. I can't believe Mars has been so silent on this issue.

I think I'll have another drink.
