Seriously, what in the blue hell could he be doing with his time. Its not like hes got a job or somethin and his kid is at school all day. I dont know what val is doing but im sure shes doing something. That bastard must play an assload of golf.

If it were me I would have been writing songs this whole time because I love music so much.
I would give anything to be in eddies position musically. Hes got enough recognition and respect to where anything he releases will sell faily well. I would be releasing solo albums.., maybe an acoustic instrumental album. I would be calling up my music buddies or my musical heros and see if they would want to work on a song with me. I remeber reading somewhere that eddie is a huge eric clapton fan, I would call that motherfucker up and say listen.., I love all your shit, you wanna come down to the house and jam a little bit and see what we come up with. If I was eddie and I was at this point in my career/life I would be having so much fun just playing fucking music and not worrying about "Van Halen" becuase its obviously not going to happen. Releasing albums that I want to make no matter what it sounds like.

Thats just me though, I kinda get the feeling that all eddie cares about is popularity. Hes to old for that shit..., I mean look at Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Pete Townshend and Clapton they are still fucking making music...., is it selling a million copies?? Hell no! but who gives a damn its what they love to do.....I hope that eddie still loves it.

Currently Eddie is recaulking the shower stall in the bathroom, putting a new sink in and replacing all of the bathroom tiles. He's gotta Bob Vila project going now that's gonna last another year or two. So no new music til at least 2002-2003. I talked to him the other day and he told me this. BTW, I better get my caulking gun back.

I heard he's taken up playing with toy trains. Of course, the tunnel happens to look like a VH fan's posterior...

In his spare time,Eddie is also working on a new technique of holding the caulking gun over the pickups and using it for the intro on a song called "Bakeacake"
Seriously,I'll bet he is and has been writing and refining a shitload of music in between golf rounds.

I bet he's writing and recording a bunch of music but he doesn't care when or if it's ever going to be released.

For those of us who have lost our patience for Eddie, it'll be interesting to see how we respond to finally getting some product in our hands. Will all be forgiven and forgotten, or are we going to look at it through tainted eyes?

I really can't say how any of us can "hold anything against" Edward as we for the most part, don't know him personally and he has done nothing directly to any of us.(I'm collectively assuming).
But a VH "Fair Warning"(so to speak) for the 21st Century will not fill the,now going on 3 year void, of us not knowing what the fuck is going on.
I mean,I really could have been enjoying the "Backstreet Boys" instead of waiting around for VH!!

Eddie could be doing one of a million things. Writing music is what he does and that would be my guess. An update on the status of the band would be nice, eh?

:tries to look forward to a time when a new VH album has come out and the 2+ year wait is ancient history:

I KNOW I won't think about how mind-numbing following this band has been the past few years, but getting in that frame of mind is hard...

Well, according to The Lost Sammy Tapes... - :gratuitous plug: - he's done something similar already:

After Cabo Wabo opened, I became real interested in cooking. Sometimes, just for the hell of it, I’d whip up a souffle for the band before one of our shows, give us something to munch on backstage. I decided when we started working on our third album together, that I wanted to make a song about my love for cooking and include an actual recipe in there. Edward was all for it at first – I think Val really wanted him to get away from songs about girls ‘n stuff. He tried experimenting with playing his guitar with an electric mixer, but the blades wouldn’t rotate smoothly and it made a god-awful sound. Still, while he worked that out, I went ahead and wrote some lyrics:

Take moist white cake mix
Mix it like the box says
Stir in a half cup of walnuts
Chopped half a dozen ways
And bake cake as directed in bundt pan
Cookin' up those old time, Cosmo recipes with me. Woo!

Make sure the sugar’s fine
Takes about half a cup now
You take a quarter cup, of some butter too, uh
And then a half a cup of some fine, whiskey

Turn the heat on, turn the heat on, turn the heat on boil for five
Remove from heat, pour it on nice, uh!
Bake for five, bake for five, bake for five then cool
I so love to make a bundt cake

An’ shakin’ and bakin’, yeah that's my fun
Still cookin' with those old time, Cosmo recipes

Lemme get on some o' that
Uh-ah uh-ho ho
Uh-ah uh-ho ho. I want some o' that
Uh-ah uh-ho ho. Gimme some o' that
Uh-ah uh-ho ho-ow!

Ooh, got some real fine bundt...bundt cake. Ah

I've been down there
Cooked a little bit of everything
But it's no fun with no stove
I found the real thing is bundt cake

Freeze-dried and deep-fried, yeah that's my fun
Still cookin' with those old time, Cosmo recipes, yeah. Woo!
In my home and it’s home grown. Oh, in my kitchen

Gimme pot holder
Uh-ah uh-ho ho
Uh-ah uh-ho ho. Lemme hold that
Uh-ah uh-ho ho. Uh!
Uh-ah uh-ho ho

This song was gonna cook! Unfortunately, Edward never got the thing with the mixer worked out and instead took to using a cordless drill. I suggested maybe making the song “Toothache”, but Edward, said, “Nah, let’s just make it about chicks”.

It's fair to say that I've lost my patience. How I'll react depends on what it is we get. If it's amazing, many moments may be forgiven. If it's 3ish, I'll retire from being an active VH fan.
