Has anybody been to the Stones website? You go to and hear the opening chords to "Start Me Up", and you know exactly where you are. You go to and you hear nothing. You see 3 month old news and you get insignificant bits of VH trivia that's been on heavy rotation for the past year and half. As The Rolling Stones roll into Toronto to rehearse (a hop, skip & dash from where I live) for their upcoming tour, it makes me wish that Van Halen could endure like them., I thought Van Halen would rank right after the Stones as one of the all-time rock ' n roll great bands. Now I'm not so sure. Sure, people will say the 'Stones haven't put out a hit record in eons but at least their fans get a new album and world tour every couple of years. VH fans could only dream of such a thing.

Yep the stones are great BUT
they haven't put out ant NEW material in almost 5 years. All they're planning on this year is greatest hits/songs whatever cd.

Remember the stones had they're little dysfunctional era in the eigthies where they didn't tour for 7 years mick hated keith, ron was gonna get kicked out of the band charlie was on drugs.

Does this sound familiar regards Van Halen??

Nothing lasts forever but Van Halen probably will return with Dave or Sammy.
it's just that we won't live long enough to see it

The Stones haven't endured any more than VH other than in years. What makes you people think VH is over???

Because they've lost three singers?? Because it's been *gasp* four whole years since an album?? Because they haven't maintained their original line-up?? Well neither have the Stones. Just because Mick and Keith are still in the band doesn't make it any different than Ed and Alex still in the band.
You people think singers are so important. **phooey**

Unfortunately, bands and artists can't churn out a new album every year. There are a lot of other factors that slow the process than a few member changes.

Mark my words...VH will be back better than ever....with or w/o Sam and Dave.

Thank god VH isn't the Stones. I despise the Stones, I think I like 2 songs. You know how many horrible albums they have put out? A band that has put out 30 albums, maybe has 4 good ones...MAYBE! They keep dragging this nonsense out tour after tour after tour. Ugh enough already. Retire already! When is the last time the Stones even put out something worth buying?
