We all are led to believe that Dave and the boys, hate each other. Dave even said so. And nothing is happening. Well, remember when Ed said ,"everything was going fine, till the lawyers on involved"? NOTHING was ever mentioned that they weren't getting along, infact Dave even gave Ed his uncle's phone number to see about his cnacer. My point is,Eveerything was going fine, until the lawyers, which,I'm sure Ed and Dave have the final say,NOT the lawyers. Dave saying,"they all hated each other", was just a smoke screen, cuz everybody was soooo sure there would be a reunion,so Dave wanted to throw a curve,to throw everyone off. Remember,he said a couple years ago, that keeping quiet, letting the rumors swell over the internet, was good publicity. Plus,Ed,not saying Dave isn't being considered, only leads to the speculation of Dave coming back, cuz if Ed has no intentions of Dave coming back, and him not saying anything to defuse the rumors, only hurts him,cuz of all the growing anticipation of a reunion, which has already been happening over the last couple years. If Ed were to announce, say next week,we have , Joe Schmoe as the new lead singer, the huge let down would be devestating to the band, and would only be at the fault of Ed,by letting the rumors spread of Dave coming back. I hope I'm making sense here, since it is early,on a sunday morning.
I think the hold up is,something to the affect as has been stated before, the cancer thing, and him getting his strenght back for the long rigors of a tour,or getting contracts signed, with Dave or a new recording co. What's everyone's take on my view? By the way, i live in Michigan, and the Lions are opening a brand new stadium this season, called Ford Field, and the chief marketer said they are soon to announce their 1st concert to be held their in late summer, early fall, that is,"gonna be huge", were his words. The reporter asked if it would be U2,and he said, "bigger". Then asked if it would be some other big band, which the name escapes me,and he said even bigger. What could be bigger than a classic Van Halen reunion? Just something I thought I'd pass along.

Peace

you could be right, now that i think about it, it does make sence that if dave was out eddie would say so or dave would go on saying he was out.because dave and eddie not talking could mean there is still some hope. but with van halen you never know.
van halen shall return. what you think is nothing might be something after all.

Here's what I think. I think the reunion was on, but either Dave wanted too much to return or Eddie wouldn't make him an official band member; just an employee. This stalled the reunion, but hasn't killed it yet. The only reason I think the reunion isn't dead is because if the door was completely closed on Dave returning, he'd have said something.

I don't for one minute believe any smoke screen theories.

What could be bigger? The Rolling Stones' probable farewell tour. And it's usually late summer when they hit the road.

I hope your right, but the odds of a reunion look darker now than they ever have. Think about it.... For everything going on right now to be a "smokescreen", it would be neccessary for Sammy Hagar to be in on the joke, as he's supposedly working with Mikey. Would Sammy want any part of an elaborate publicity stunt to conceal a Van HALEN reunion?? And would Dave, or even Eddie for that matter, want Hagar involved?

Ed and Al always seemed very concerned with Dave embarrassing them. If there was ever a chance of a reunion, I would say it ended when they saw Dave's latest videos. ( )

Sammy wouldn't have any business divulging info about =VH= and Dave even if he did have any - it would only stir shit up and make him look bad. I say it's possible that Ed is still recovering to be able to tour sometime in the next few years. Just because he can make appearances here and there doesn't mean he's ready to tour yet. In the meantime, everyone else (besides Al) are doing other musical projects, but everyone (including Mike, Dave, and Sam) has been real careful not to exclude =VH= from their future plans. I think there's still a big possibility for the ultimate reunion with Dave to happen, and even though it looks grim now, no one has officially spoiled it yet. =VH= could come back any time in the next 5 years and have the same impact on the general public.

But then, I'm a dreamer.

Well, the last 2 videos from Eddie & Alex were pretty embarrassing too. First there was that stupid igloo thing with Eddie wearing the retarded hat and practically kissing Cherone. And they followed that with the $300 camcorder shot by Valerie's brother.

I'll admit that hat Ed wore in the "Without You" video looked pretty silly but having a hot babe parading around in a replica of the ice hotel is still pretty cool not to mention that bright orange jacket Alex was wearing. The "Fire in the Hole" video was pretty cool with shots from Lethal Weapon 4 and the band on a circular platform surrounded by that dude from the movie with the flamethrower and body armor.

Ford, what you say, makes sense. I guess I was dreaming a little. But I wanna know why Michael Anthoney lied about a spring cd release and tour with Dave? It makes no sense for him to lie. I don't know Rols, but why would he lie? This is so ridiculus to try and figure out this mess. The lawyers getting involved, and DELAYING things is a very easy thing to fix. If Ed said they just didn't " have it" with Dave, they I REALLY would be worried.Obviously,Ed and Dave know this is their next sep in thier careers,to get together and jam out a few songs,so why not just fix the minor details, and "lets rock". Fuck,it's only rock n roll.

</font>
INteresting side note about who is "relatively BIGGER"

from http://www.riaa.org/Gold-Best-4.cfm

ROLLING STONES, THE 53.50 million albums SOLD in the US...based on Platinum and Gold Certifications only, so the numbers are Rounded Down per award...

VAN HALEN 50.50 million albums SOLD in the US...based on Platinum and Gold Certifications only, so the numbers are Rounded Down per award...

of course according to http://www.van-halen.com/newsite/music.html

VH's US sales top over 60 million+

SO actually according to the numbers game the Stones and VH are very close...

Surprising with all the albums they have out, that the Stones haven't sold more, but then again, if they're just basing those on Gold and Platinum awards, then all the Stones albums that haven't hit gold, even if they've only sold 200,000 each, that could make a lot more sales. But regardless of sales, I would still say the Stones are bigger just based on the fact that they've been around a whole lot longer and they are regarded as legends while right now Van Halen is regarded as little more than a clusterf**k!

But here's one - how 'bout a Van Halen/Rolling Stones double bill to open Ford Field? Just like the old days...

Van Halen has no singer, no management, no record label, no tour manager. Dave is recording a new album and planning to tour in the summer, and Mike and Sammy just joined Journey. Of course the reunion is on.
