    Every song was written around what would sound the best in a three-peice/vocalist arrangement.

    Sammy's got a great voice, but most of the Hagar era material has alot overdubbing and synths that took out the rawness they had started out with.

    Thus seems to be the fate of maturing musicians. That youthful fire dies down and they start worrying about perfecting their art and getting deeper into their music. It seems to me the common trend in music is the older the artist gets, the more his music mellows.
