Here are the bands, that in my opinion will always be regarded as "BIGGER" (another word fails me right now) than VH.

Listed alphabetically:

The Beatles
Led Zeppelin
Pink Floyd
The Rolling Stones
The Who

Now, I love VH more than any of the bands listed. I just feel that the above mentioned bands will always be regarded in a higher standard.

Personally, I think The Who is overrated.

Anyone wish to add or delete from the list.

Pink Floyd will always have name recognition, but I'm not so sure many people are all that familiar with their work beyond a few hits. That's my feeling, anyway. It might be different outside of the States, or for people somewhat older than myself (26).

I think The Who are probably in the same situation.

Van Halen had been working very hard the last few years to diminsh any sort of legendary status they might have had.

EVH, you're probably right...And of those bands you listed, in 100 years, the Beatles will be the only one people are still discussing...

Others that will actually surpass Van Halen because of their recent new found popularity...

U2 and Bon Jovi

No way they make it into the Legend list with Zep Pink Floyd, and the Beatles, but they are and were BIG-TIME. In fact U2 may indeed deserve that status. We'll see...

Its a shame, because Van Halen was right there knocking on the door to be in that select group you mentioned, but it looks as though they will obviously be remembered as a great band, but just not considered "HOLY".

Unless of course they do come back to reunite. If Van Halen puts out another album, and can get that "new found popularity" similar to what U2 and Bon Jovi just experienced, Van Halen could possibly get that "Holy" status in the general public's eye. We all know Van Halen could have a bigger impact than what we just saw with U2 and Bon Jovi this past year.

I agree, all of those bands will be ahead of Van Halen. I think you can throw Jimi Hendrix on that list too.

How can you say The Who are overrated???

What are you, fucked up???? The Who were the first band to bring the party out on stage!

Listen to "Who's Next" and "Quadrophenia" real loud on head phones, after listening if you still feel they are overrated, go get a brain transplant. The one you have isn't functioning properly.

XOXOXO,
AlMo
