I think that's a very cool idea...imagine "Shattered" or "Heartbreaker" with a Van Halen guitar tone and filler riffs...I also think it could fit well with Alex's drumming...

I've heard nothing about this. Is this confirmed? Rumour? Is it being suggested as just a one-off collab. with EVH or as something more?

great suggestion but definite rumor mill fodder.

I saw the stones 2 months ago and it was a blistering performance. If Dave ever came back there is still hope they could kick major booty.

Didn't you also say that Dave was going to make an album with George Lynch and that Rick Rubin was going to be the producer?

Jagger's already tried to hire hotshot guitar players for his solo stuff, and it doesn't work. he belongs with Keith...

besides, when Mick is away from Keith, he tends to lean more to the dance-pop, trendy side of things. Richards keeps Jagger in check, not sure if Ed would be up for the fight anymore.

No, it's not even a rumor, he was just saying it would be cool if it happened...

This is obviously not a rumor, seems like an Opinions/Speculation trip to me.

There's a lot of Stones tunes I'd love to hear Eddie play. How about Gimme Shelter with that cool shimmery guitar tone like Eddie had in Push Comes to Shove???

I think it would be very interesting. Mick can actually sing, and that falsetto voice with Ed's tone would sound good. Especially with some of Ed's keyboard tunes. Mick covering Dave or Sam though, doesn't go over too well with me. They'd have to have brand new tunes to make it work.

Now, imagine Ed riffing on Satisfaction, and Jumping Jack Flash, playing the solos in Heartbreaker, Bitch, and Dancing With Mr. D, and even the electric sitar on Paint it Black? That would be sweet!

Unfortunately, I don't see it happening.

Mick with Van Halen would be bad as shit. Sonically, I bet a bug could DIG it.

But there's a key way in which Jagger simply would not fit.

Even at ten years the senior, Jagger's not a bitter, SEDENTARY OLD MAN.

Here The Stones are, a road map, a shining example, a talisman of What To DO to KEEP GOING. But can any of our favorite idiots get a fuckin' clue?? With the possible exception of the bassist, NONE of the original VH principals - VOCALIST INCLUDED - is worthy of licking Jagger's NUTSACK.

It's a sad lot for someone mourning Classic Van Halen, these days - forced to confront the notion that SAMMY HAGAR may be the only one who hasn't forgotten what it's all about.
Classic Van Halen. In Pace Requiescant.

and by the way...
