I can't see VH doing the show. Although, I think it would be cool in theory, even though I'm not a KISS fan.

But having said that, I seriously doubt it. Gene and Dave don't really dig each other from what I recall.

Who'd get more money? Who'd headline the show? If it's KISS (which I'd assume it would be, seeing as it's their last show in the states), then no way would VH be a part of it.

If you believe Eddie's account of the press conference backstage at the '96 VMA's where Dave supposedly said, "Tonight's about me man, not your fuckin' hip," then how could they go onstage with KISS when not only is Dave not the top banana, but neither is VH?

It's an interesting time scheme, but I'd be shocked if it actually went down.

Gene and Dave don't like each other but if history (and a huge chunk of cash) could be made, I'm sure they could tolerate each other for a day.

Having said that, I don't see this as being a viable option. As has been said, neither band would want to play second fiddle in an arrangement such as this. In this instance, neither band would need the other to sell tickets, so why have another band on the bill that would draw attention away from the headliner?

I know there are alot of people here that do NOT like Kiss and that's fine. Just give me your opinion on this anyway. It could happen.

Kiss' never ending tour is almost over - we all know that. But the other day I was listening to my radio station & they announced that they had added some more dates in Australia after the first of the year. That was no big surprise.

Then they also said that they were going to play one more date in the U.S. sometime in April. The name of the city is being WITHHELD at the request of their management. Why?

If VH starts to tour again, the first leg would probably start around April. Is it possible that they would do one show together? I don't know. Wouldn't that be a concert worth paying "big" money to see! I think so. Whatcha all think?

Do you really think KISS would want VH at their "last" show? Or that VH would want KISS involved in their comeback tour? It's all about the spotlight, and Dave and Ed are going to be fighting each other for it more than enough. No need to toss Gene Simons in there too.

I've heard rumours that Kiss will play Madison Square Garden sometime before the end of the reunion tour. I'm not a Kiss fan, but I don't think that has happened yet has it? NYC seems like an obvious place for that tour to finish

You'd think Kiss/Van Halen would be in a stadium - though April kind of limits the geographical options.

Word MikeL! You are definately right about the spotlight issue. But Kiss has proved to everyone that they did this for the "money". What on earth would draw more money than this event? I do agree with you. I think alot of egos would get in the way. But think of the "$"!!!

New York does make sense for the final KISS show, but so does Detroit, being that that is the first area that really took to KISS.

The funny thing is, KISS' intro says "The Hottest band in the world". Hell, if they are playing with Van Halen, KISS wouldn't even be the hottest band in the building, much less in the world.

One thing is clear about this at least. IF it
happens Kiss will be the headliner - it's supposedly their last ever gig after all.

I just don't see VH being there except as a surprise teaser for their own headlining tour. That sounds extremely unlikely to say the least.

I agree, there's no way KISS is going to play their (supposed) final show as an opening act to anybody. And the only way I could ever see VH opening for KISS at this stage would be if VH felt a debt was owed to KISS, and Gene in particular. But I don't think they do. Certainly Dave seems to strongly dislike Gene, and Eddie seems no more than vaguely thankful towards Gene for his early interest in them.

If I was KISS, or any other band on the planet, I wouldn't want a reunited Van Halen opening for me. You have to believe that Van Halen is going to come out every night with all guns blazing, knowing that the whole world is watching.

Hell as much as I dug Kiss when I was a little tike, no way in hell does the Mighty Van Halen open a show for them. I'd imagine Kiss, in their heart of heart's, would know better than to subject themselves to such torture. LOL. But by the same token, I can see Eddie and Dave telling each other, "We are the greatest rock band ever, so let Kiss have their moment at MSG." "We'll kick some ass regardless!"

Btw, It ain't gonna happen. Just thought I'd have some fun with this thread. Out.

Now I ask myself this question.

    1. I know it would be a co-headlining show, but do you really think Van Halen would "open" for KISS again? And 2. Do you really think KISS wants their last show to have the first show of a reunitied VH opening in front of them?

Damn, talk about stealin' the show.

Of course, it would be just like the old days now wouldn't it.

Of course, as unlikely as this is, it would almost scream (if they did it):

"We doth hereby bequeath unto thee the Kiss Army. Taketh thine newfound screaming fans and layeth the smack down on pop music, hence that the petty smurf willst not knoweth what hath knocked them beside thine head and torest thine music in twain."
