Being that there's been no official news regarding VN lately there seems to be an abundance of people saying stuff about DLR going back with his EEAS bandmates and Hagar possibly coming back to VH in the near future. Don't get me wrong, I'm a firm DLR supporter (got "Top Jimmy" on now) but at the same time I dig Hagar-era VH. If Hagar came back I'd fully support the band and buy the new album whether or not the first single was great or a piece of shit. I doubt Hagar is coming back though since he's fed up with the BS and has enough $$$$$ already. Then again, Hagar is like 57 isn't he? That's kinda old for rock and roll IMO. Who's next? Mick Jaggar?

That is old for rock and roll, but Dave will be 48 in a couple of months, so he's not far behind. And Alex Van Halen is a year older than Dave. None of these guys are young anymore.

And Sammy's voice has aged very well, so it's not like he's a broken down old singer in that respect.

Seriously, all they'd have to do is just "tune down" a few key's and they'd be good to go. I've noticed on some Sammy shows I have that "Top of the World" is no where NEAR as high as it is on the CD. You know what?? It still sounded pretty good.

I'd love to see Sam back if DLR don't fly.

Oh man, I knew I shoulda went straight to bed when I got home but of course I had to get on the VHForum instead. The "VN" comment was a result of me being/still am wasted. Uh... well I'm just paying homage to the early years of VN - damn, I meant VH!

If it doesn't work out with Dave it would be great to have Sammy back. All Ed and Alex have to do is apologize to him and he'll consider coming back. But knowing them, they probably won't.

I still don't understand where the Hagar supportors get the "dlr=1album/tour sammy=zillionalbums/tours"

Sammy can be just as much a pain in the VH brothers' necks and hips as Dave can be.-either singer will have the same shelf life with the band.

BUT in the BIG ROCK AND ROLL PICTURE
Roth reunion=Climactic
Sammy reunion=Anticlimactic

I would love a Sammy-VH reunion. I think all it would take would be for Ed and Sam to sit down and talk things over. They were great friends up until Daniels came into the picture. I was just watching a video from the RHRN tour-Sacramento CA- and Ed and Sam are having a ball. In fact if you can get your hands on the House of Blues radio special with Sam and Ed from 94 they seem to be getting along great at that point-right before RD got involved.
If it happens I'll be one of the first ones in line to pick up that cd.

Who was it that actually pissed Sammy off the most? Eddie and Alex? And where was Mike at during all these fights. I never see any interviews with him.

History, hain, shows us that DLR/VH is doomed from the beginning.

The band almost broke up after Fair Warning.
Dave left after 1984.
Dave turned the BoV1 into a media fiasco.
The "reunion" of 2000 fell apart.

Not that Dave is a bad person or a "cancer" per se, but in Van Halen he is a cancer that destroys chemistry and Ed's ability to be happy with himself and his music.

Now, granted, things weren't always hunky dory with Sammy/VH, but an intelligent manager (may Ed Leffler rest in peace) knew how to let steam blow off so they could keep going. THAT is the problem that destroyed a great band. The manager cared more about making money than keeping the mental state of his band in a positive realm.

When Sammy pissed Ed off, you know what he'd do? Hop a plane for Maui for a while, work on a few songs, and come back a month or two later with some new material for the band to work through.

I believe that the brothers Van Halen did a damn fine job of it themselves.

Yea, why don't Ed and Al just apologize? With that asswipe Daniel's gone it could make a big difference. Apparently sammy's still close to the VH camp and It took daniels quite a bit of time to poison their minds against Sam. Now that the shit head is gone the VanHalens should realize their mistake. I believe a tour with Sam would draw just as large a crowd as it would with Dave, especially since Ed said he'd like to tour to promote new material and not do a straight nostalgia tour. Sammy's got much better range than Dave and his voice is stronger.

Nobody is advocating a DLR/VH greatest hits tour. Sammy may have more range than Dave, and a stronger voice, but that certainly didn't hamper VH the first time around. Do you think VH could sell stadiums with Sam? They could with Dave.
