Man...I don't know what y'all think of The Cult, but Ian Astbury has some friggin serious pipes and can write decent lyrics. I don't know how he'd handle covering old VH material, but I think they could have some rockin new stuff...

If you've never heard a Cult tune, listen to Fire Woman!!! Badass Rock!

He's about the same age as the guys, and i think he's unemployed as well.

Ian's got a new gig. Believe it or not, he's replacing Jim Morrison.

Can you imagine VH playing "Sanctuary" ?? That just gave me the creeps. BTW, I fucking love the Cult, but I don't think that Ian Crunchberry would fit the mighty VH mould.

Now that would be an interesting merger. I like a lot of the stuff The Cult did. Not a bad choice but I don't think Ian has much of a following anymore so the chances for commercial success doesn't seem that great.

Well, he can sing, and the last Cult album was very heavy, but he's got to wierd a voice, and he has a lame name. I mean, whoever the new guy is (if there ever is one), he's got to have a cool name.

IMO you can't go and try to get just any singer from another successful band to front Van Halen. All that does is homogenize the sound of the band. Next thing you know, Van Halen sounds nothing like Van Halen.

I believe they are done. There won't even be a RNR Hall of Fame for these guys for many years, if ever. There are too many others who haven't allowed themselves to drop off the face of the earth that will be inducted long before Van Halen. I'll bet even Bon fucking Jovi will get in before these guys.

well, drop the van halen monicker and accept the fact that van halen is dead.

then go on and just make music and accept the fact that theyre never gonna make the same money ever again.

hopefully they managed to save up.
