.....I'm a nobody....who the hell is gonna listen to me...I been a fan since 77 i'm 33 ...I love both eras but " times have changed "..it's time for ed mike & al to tap into somthing a litle deeper...If I was a somebody in the music biz , this suggestion would probably get to vh guys...i never felt so stongly about somthing as i do this.
This is the ultimate singer for van halen....he can cover all 3 eras to a tee....i put him in the ranks of paul rodgers , lou grahm....there is a mp3 section...give this guy a listen and your opinion www.jeffscottsoto.com

blah...

you know- you guys and your love affairs with these singers like cornell and soto- regardless of whether i like them or not (although i have to admit cornell SUX!!!) - just because they are your fav singer doesn't mean they should be fronting VH- i think maynard from tool is amazing-but i don't want him fronting VH- because HE IS ALREADY THE SOUND OF ANOTHER BAND

what ever happened to originality?

....well i'm talking from a " musical " standpoint..to give eddie a full musical pallet to write music..no boundries...lets face it.. we are all scard for life " what " vh should sound like and look like...the first era made a huge impact..but i want to hear all of eddie..and jeff is not a one trick pony...the guy takes it seriously just like ed & you can hear it

What ever happened to originality? Yeah, like picking Sammy to sing was real original. HE was already the sound of another band (his own). So what.......I say, just pick a f&^$ing singer and get on with it.

Van Baron, if I'm wrong, I apologize up front, but I swear this is now several of these exact same Jeff Scott Soto topics you've started that I've had to move.

This topic is going to the Opinions forum. Please refer to (search for) this topic the next time you need to push your boy.

However, you weren't the first person to comment on your own topic for once, so there appears to be some hope here.
