If Van Halen regroups should they add more members, besides the obvious a singer? In my opinion they should consider adding a rythem guitar player to fill in the sound during leads and stuff and at the very least add a real live keyboard player, takes away from the freshness having a computer do the keyboards.

They had ample chances to do that with Sammy, and did it very sparingly. And only on Sam-solo tunes, if I remember.

As for the keyboard player, I think it depends on what they plan on playing.

The real reason that this is all taking so long is that they're waiting for Ed's clones to mature.

I definitely don't want to have any other guitarist on stage but Ed.

But I'm in favor of adding a live keyboardist as opposed to the pre-taped keyboards.

A live keyboard player would be OK but I'm not in favor of another guitarist.

They could do with another guitar player to back Eddie when he does his tuba solos.

Hell no! The coolest thing about Poundcake off of RHRN was when Eddie goes into the solo and Mikey is pounding away. No rhythm guitar there to mess that one up. Besides, Ed, Al, and Mike have to reform and come out of retirement first. And then there is the singer problem...

I would NOT want to see another guitar player in Van Halen. Eddie is the only one. Yeah, Sammy did play live on some songs but that was short-lived (not counting his solo material). As for a live keyboardist, I'm not sure. I mean it worked pretty good on the last tour but I've always preferred a band playing everything live. I think I'd take the pre-taped stuff.

There isn't a guitarist alive who can play better rhythm than Eddie.

    Keys? Ed is just fine!

    Now a singer......

They should get someone to cover Mikey's bass since he'll be too busy trying to make Dave sound passable.

Short answer: no. It wouldn't be the same if our loveable, multi-talented, rock-and-roll Mozart shared the stage with anybody else. Too many cooks . . .
