I admit I don't read every single post or reply on the forums but I haven't seen anyone mention this.

Eddie and Al are making a pretty penny of this tour as well.I'd love to see what the VH catalog sales are from when the tour started to the end.

All those Sammy era fans who were too young to be into Dave or being won over by Dave's performance going out and buying all the Dave era records and all the people who were won over by Hagar's performance or didn't give Hagar era VH a chance going out and buying the records after seeing Sammy live.

I think that would be something interesting to see.I know that the VH catalog still sells well but I bet it goes up alot because of this tour.

Yeah, don't forget about Warner Bros. making a bit more pretty pennies from this as well. I bet Van Halen album sales are the highest they have been in 6 years. Not bad for a band they dropped.

I'd imagine that most people going to these shows already have the CDs they want. Sales probably spiked during the time the remasters came out. These aren't new fans that they're attracting to the shows.

I'll agree they're not attracting new fans, but some people that just came for Dave might like what they hear from Sammy and buy one of his albums and vice versa.

Personally I have all I need from Sam. I own his greatest hits.

These shows are attracting the old geezers out there like me that need a nostalgia fix, but they still could help sell albums.

    pretty funny, and mostly true!

but i do think you're missing the boat if you don't have any Montrose or his last two albums, Voodoo and Ten 13. 13 is an all-around excellent rock album. IMO, had it been released around the time of Standing Hampton, it would have sold huge.

but if my grandma had balls...

Excellent point. I'm sure there are some fans who didn't care for 1 of the 2 but changed their mind after seeing this tour. Looks like a win-win situation for all parties (except the reunion fans).

I actually believe sales will increase. Most fans probably don't have all their albums. Plus Sammy fans may by their first Dave album and vice-versa. There will definately be some effect.

More importantly, what's the standard for reimbursement when you perform another group's song live and you happen to have writing credits on that song as well?
