Dunno... maybe it's a similar reason to why none of Roth's solo records could sell that many, either. Especially those last two, which sold what, again? 2-300 copies each?

    Pretty friggin' weird, ain't it?

I don't know how accurate Sw's sig is. If we're talking about world wide sales Van Halen as of 1995 had sold over 60 million albums and that doesn't take into consideration Best Of, VH3, the remasters and additional back catalogue sales. If you're going to use a signature try and make it an accurate one.

Who? sure likes to play the numbers game a lot when it comes to VH.

Why didn't EEAS sell 10 million copies? At that time he was at the peak of his solo career. And it's sold, what, 2 million?

That's pretty much it, in the same way that there weren't 10 million seperate individuals who bought Van Halen and 1984. There's far more to sales numbers than just the raw figures.

What is really funny was that Sammy made money of the Roth era while he was in VH. Also, if you look at record sales between 78-85 while Roth was in, it is a lot less then what the sales were while Sammy was in between 85-96.

Complete Bullshit. Anyone here will tell you that there is no way Sammy would have been entitled to money that was made from the Dave era of Van Halen. There is no way Dave would have allowed that.

Sammy to me is like Ozzy. Some albums go gold and some go Platinum and they tour like crazy to have fun. They both are good business men unlike Roth who keeps trying to sue everyone just to recover money that he probably spent up his nose and on stupid women.

Sammy and Ozzy are probably among the few rock stars that were able to balance their checkbooks.

Do you really think Sammy needs MORE money? he plays for fun! His Tequila is his main cash-cow now!

Easy answer -- VH and 1984 are Van Halen's most popular and in my opinion best albums.

All the other Dave-era and Sammy-era albums are just GREAT!!! Most bands would dream to have the success that all the other albums had.

I'm gonna quote the great FORD now, "if it wasn't for Sammy, there wouldnt be any Van Halen for DLR to come back to", Dave left!!!!!!, wait maybe Sammy pushed Dave out in 85 Anyways, I do believe that N'Sync and the Backstreet boys as well as New kids on the block sold a lot of CD's too, Does that make their work better then Dave's. Sam has a fairly loyal record buying concert going following, for someone who never sold 10 million of one album I'd say he is doing ok

Hmm...wasn't aware any of Dave's solo records sold 10 million copies either. News to me.

Who, since you're all about record sales, you must have all of the Backsteet Boys records, since they've all sold way more than 10 million. What's sad, is I bet you actually do own them, no joke.

For my tastes I like 5150 over 1984 and 5150 is what made me a solid VH fan but my older brother was into them since VH 1 up to 1984 and I seemed to have carrried on the torch from that point on while he lost interest. I guess it is a generational thing.
