Rick, you said "i want something a little stronger/aggressive and more buttery "
That's kind of a contradiction in terms. The wolf pickups are pretty hot, and something more aggresive will give you more attack, so will have to be hotter. That eliminates the "buttery". If you're getting too much distortion don't go with a hotter pickup. Dimarzio's are pretty hot pickups. Seymour Duncans have some good pickups that are buttery, but without as much attack. Are you sure it's not your amp that your unhappy with. Have you experimented with diff. amps.
You should check out the POD. Although I don't use one at the moment, Homeunit can tell you how well it works. That might be something that'll help before you remove the pickup. If you want to talk about some diff. pickups email me privately.

Btw , the wolfgangs humb are one of the better I have heard in my life ! No need to change them , believe me Rick_s !
As Tribb sayed , it's better you try a differnt amp sound ! Maybe the problem is on that source !

You could put an active EMG in there. That would definately give it a more agressive sound.

Maybe if you can find it, a Dimarzio PAFPRO, those have a special type of string winding casing around it to get vintage type sounds.

Well try this if you haven't already, I'm sure it will give descriptions for each pickup in their catalouge.

    www.seymourduncan.com

    www.dimarzio.com

And if you find one check out www.musiciansfreind.com about prices on them, their pretty damn cheap. Good delivery as well.
