OK Iknow we've been here before but my brain doesn't retain knowledge more than 3-4 days at a time. I went through th archives but couldn't find the page. What is the best stuff to use on the unfinished necks of my Ernie Ball Music Mans.I bought a bottle of Old English lemon oil but wanted to make sure before I tried it.I've had theese guitars for 3-4 years and figured it was about time they got a little treatment to them instead of the barage of abuse I usually dish out to them playing VH riffs.Any and all advice will be appreciated greatly. Thanks to all you're the coolest.

That's the stuff to use! I have used it for years on my Wolfgang and it does a nice job of cleaning it and leaves no residue!
God Speaks to us through the Bible. If He could play the guitar, he'd play it through Eddie Van Halen.

From ernieball.com faq section
Q: How do I clean and maintain my Music Man neck?

A: To maintain the neck, you may use gunstock oil such as Birchwood-Casey Tru-Oil with an infrequent dose of gunstock wax or a high-grade of furniture wax.

To clean the neck, we recommend infrequent and small amounts of a high grade of lemon oil. If it gets very dirty, you can use Murphy's Oil soap with a 3:1 mixture. Again, it would be a very infrequent procedure.

Be sure to follow all of the manufacturers recommended safety precautions when using any of these oils or waxes.

I have been using lemon oil on the neck of my Wolfgang for three years now, twice a month or more. The neck has now an incredible patina—you can almost see yourself in it, and it feels super smooth and it glides like you have no idea.
No adverse effects whatsoever after all this time, no residues, no nothing...

Using gun stock oil is ok,(I never have), it is similar to using lemon oil, but I would be scared some brands might change the pigment of your maple. They warn this of lemon oils too. Careful with furniture polishes, they can leave residue over time. I have heard use Endust once in awile, very sparingly!(sp?) Old English is a no-lose way to do it! It gives the neck a really nice luster look and very clean feeling!
