I have a Takamine F-400 12-string and a Crate Blue Voodoo 6212 amp that I wish to sell. Both are in excellent condition, used very little. The guitar was made in Japan, I bought it new from my local music store 3-years ago, it had been on the wall there for 5 or 6 years that I know of. I wish to buy possibly a small Mesa-Boogie if such exists. Any recommendations? I want something a little more portable, that crate has 2 12's & weighs a cubic butt-load.

Sell everything you have and donate a kidney, then you just might have enough money for a Mesa.

If you want the Boogie sound for a good price that's small and portable, look for a Studio 22 1x12 combo. I think I'm in the minority though in that I really just don't like the sound of Mesa Boogie amps. They're damn fine amps but I just don't like the voicing and the feel of Boogies. But I've played the Studio 22 and that trademark Boogie sound is there and you have the portability plus they go for a decent used price.

Yeah LarryJ I feel the same about Marshalls. Hate me if you will peaple but to me a marshall sounds to fake. There is no quality in the sound but i'm only talking about a solid state marshall. The tube ones are much better sounding but I'd stay away form a solid state marshall.

Well its not even fair to compare a solid state Marshall to a real tube Marshall, especially late 60's/early 70's models. Put it this way I consider solid state Marshalls and solid state Vox's for that matter to be Korg amps with Marshall or Vox logo's to help them sell.

Hey, Homeunit, were you being facetious or do you own one of these things?!?!
Tube Motherboard

Yes, they really do exist. I think that it was Xaminer that first brought this thing to my attention.
