    Quick question.

    What color is your Strat?
If it already red or white you might want to try this. Back in 83 I took a new black Fender and wanted to Han Halenize it to look like the Black/yellow charvel on Vh1.

My bud was a painter and asked me to give him an idea of what I wanted it to look like. I got some one inch wide yellow electrical tape and cut out the width's and lenghts i wanted then taped them onto the guitar in the pattern I wanted. When I was done It already "looked" like it was now painted. No one could tell unless they picked it up and and felt the tape. I never got it painted and a few years later I was glad that I did not. I sold the axe without the tape for what I paid for it. The custom paint job would have more than likely lessened the value. So if your axe is alraedy red or white you might want to try the tape trick first and see if you like it. Plus its not permenent. If you go to this link http://sitebuilder.liveuniverse.com/...r/wsn0EF2.html

and look at the 3rd picture on the top right called "Dave The Early Years" you will see the guitar taped up. Its a small picture sorry thats all I have with that guitar. Lata Snake

thanks snakeman. its black with some of the paint scraped off (even the fender logo is scraped off). i do not plan to sell it since it is my 1st guitar and i doubt it would be worth anything anyway. i've used this guitar for learning how to fix them but have never tried my hand at painting one and i've always wanted that evh guitar but can't afford to buy one.

I'm painting an acoustic guitar red/black/white right now. As for your Squire...I don't know. One tip that I CAN tell you is that it would be good to experiment on something else to see what works and what doesn't before you start painting your Squire. That's the reason I'm painting the acoustic. You see, it was just an old piece of junk that I found in the trash that someone had covered with house paint (people are stupid). If I screw it up, who cares. If the paint job looks good however, I'll try it on an old Kramer.

Use what ever paint you want to use man. I'm using Walmart spray paint on the acoustic and it looks great so far. I used spray to avoid nasty looking brush strokes. It's going to take a hell of a long time to finish because of all the stripes however.
