Found a gloss ivory Wolf Special in a local shop(where I'm putting some gear up for sale). The owner is gonna let me have it for $499(!). It's been there overa year without selling, and he wants to move it. However, the Floyd isn't "flush" with the body: you can pull the bar UP! Isn't that BAD?!!? I thought the design of this guitar meant this couldn't be done? Is this thig a lemon, or the deal of the decade.
BTW, he's selling Korean Wolfies for more, and they...LOOK...AWFUL!

A very easy fix. You can either lower the tremposts slightly, so it' sits flush, or in this case what's probably needed is to just loosen the 2 screws in the back that hold the trem springs. Just a few turns counterclockwise with a screwdriver should do it.
That takes the tension off the springs and the bridge will move back till it's flush with the body. You can then raise or lower the trem posts to make it parallel to the body and have it sit flush.

Hey Tribb, don't you mean to tighten the claw...

A floating floyd is fucked regardless, but with all my years of adjusting a floater, tightening allowed for the bridge to stop riding up, in turn so it could be level.

The Wolf's are fixed, and for adjusting the height I agree. But I just got off shift, so maybe I'm hallucinatin...

The Wolfs are supposed to sit flush. What's probably happened is someone put heavier strings on it than it was setup for. Either that or the previous owner wanted a floater and lossened the claw screws.

I'd start with the claw screws and then move onto the poll peices if needed. To stop it from floating you need to tighten the claw screws. Tribbs been drinking too much Cabo Wabo.

I used to have my Floyd floating and I didn't have too much trouble with it once I got the SOB in tune. THey are a bitch to get in tune when you change the strings though. If you break a string you are completely S.O.L!

No previous owner. The store changes the strings on their inventory every 6 months, and this Wolf Special has seen at least 2 string changes there.

Looks like I'll have to snatch it up when my gear sells, then. TWO Wolf Specials! Woo-hoo!

I bet some jackass kid did the string changing not realizing that you need to either block off the trem or do three strings at a time so the trem doesn't pop off. It happens a lot. Doesn't sound like too big of a deal to me to fix. Too bad the store doesn't realize that if they had it fixed, they could probably sell the guitar a lot easier.

Yep if you change all 6 strings on a Wolfie at once, the bar will go crazy and will not be flush anymore.
